Welcome to the AI Mathematics and Applications (AIMA) Laboratory website. Our laboratory is affiliated with the Department of Computer Engineering at Kumoh National Institute of Technology (KIT). Our goal is to analyze fundamental mechanisms of various AI models mathematically and enhance their performance in terms of accuracy, effectiveness, and computational efficiency. Moreover, we study various optimization algorithms used to train large-scale AI and machine learning (ML) models, as well as numerous AI-based numerical algorithms to efficiently solve complex problems, such as NP-hard or high-dimensional global optimization problems. Finally, we also research various AI & ML applications based on these studies.
We analyze fundamental mathematical mechanisms of AI and ML models and study various methods to improve their performance based on the theoretical analysis results.
We develop various optimization algorithms to train large-scale machine learning models effectively and verify their convergence, stability, and validity theoretically.
We study various numerical algorithms to effectively solve high-dimensional global optimization and NP-hard problems by utilizing traditional and latest nature-inspired AI & ML algorithms.
We conduct numerous studies to enhance the performance of AI & ML application models by addressing vulnerabilities found in their mathematical mechanisms and structures.
