Sarah Bigham teaches, writes, and paints in Maryland where she lives with her kind chemist wife, three independent cats, an unwieldy herb garden, several chronic pain conditions, and near-constant outrage at the general state of the world tempered with love for those doing their best to make a difference. Sarah’s poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and art have appeared in a variety of great places for readers, writers, listeners, and thinkers.
Sarah has published her debut novel "Kind Chemist Wife: Musings at 3am", an incredible memoir essay collection that deals, in part, with her experience as a chronic pain patient. Response to creative prompt: "When I look in the mirror, I see..."
About five years ago, I descended into medical hell. I now have 17 different diagnoses, but my specialists say I cannot actually have 17 different things. We are on the search for the "unifying diagnosis." In the meantime, I deal with chronic pain, fatigue, physical therapy, medications, medical marijuana, and much, much more. I supposedly have fibromyalgia and interstitial cystitis and a host of other things. Creativity has been my salvation.
