How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
If you want a foldable on-ear headset that doubles as a school-and-travel companion with a braided cord and adjustable hinge, choose AILIHEN Headphones; if you need light, hook-style earbuds that stay put during workouts and slip into a carrying case, choose AIAUXAI Over Ear Earbuds.
• AILIHEN Headphones — biggest strength: On-ear, noise-isolating design with a foldable hinge, adjustable headband and a 59-inch braided cord that resists kinking, twisting and breaking under normal use.
• AILIHEN Headphones — biggest trade-off: The volume controls don't work on a PC, and using the mic on a computer requires an extra adapter.
• AIAUXAI Over Ear Earbuds — biggest strength: Ear-hook fit at just 50 g, with a carrying case, two pairs of eartips and a 1.2 m TPE cable built to take a pull.
• AIAUXAI Over Ear Earbuds — biggest trade-off: Hook-style in-ear buds trade the cushioned over-ear feel for a sportier, more minimal fit, so they aren't the pick if you want full cups around your ears.
• Who each pick is for: AILIHEN suits kids, students and anyone doing long desk, class or travel sessions in one spot; AIAUXAI suits runners, gym-goers and commuters who want buds that stay hooked in place.
The AILIHEN C8 is a wired, on-ear headset built around comfort and control rather than portability. The earcups are rounded and cushioned in faux leather, and the adjustable headband hinge lets the headphones flex to the shape of your head. That's the part I care about most for long sessions, because a headband that adapts is what keeps a pair of on-ears wearable through a full morning of classes or a long workday at a laptop. The plush circular cups also fold up into the palm of your hand, so the C8 travels smaller than its on-ear silhouette suggests.
Sound-wise, this is a 32-ohm dynamic driver with a 20 Hz–20,000 Hz range, and the full-sized on-ear construction is explicitly designed to isolate outside noise so the bass, mids and highs come through. In practice that means it's a reasonable pick for a noisy classroom, a bus or a plane seat — anywhere you want the outside world pushed back a bit without fiddling with settings. The built-in mic, remote and volume control handle calls and track switching without reaching for your phone.
The cable is the detail that makes this a school-friendly pick: a 59-inch braided cord with a sturdy 3.5 mm plug, described as not kinking, twisting or breaking under normal use. That length gives you room to move at a desk without yanking the plug out. It works with phones, laptops, desktops, Chromebooks, MP3/MP4 players and other audio devices.
Two honest caveats. First, the volume control buttons don't work on a PC. Second, if you want to use the microphone on a computer, you'll need an additional adapter. So if your main goal is Zoom calls from a laptop with one cable and no extras, this isn't the cleanest fit. It's also an on-ear design that the listing describes for adults, and at 180 g it's a real object on your head — not something you'll forget you're wearing.
Buy it if you want one affordable-feeling wired headset for school, homework, online study or travel, with a mic for phone calls and a cord that survives being stuffed in a bag. Skip it if you need plug-and-play mic use on a PC, or you want something that disappears into a pocket.
The AIAUXAI buds take the opposite approach: instead of cups around your ears, you get in-ear earpieces held by hooks. The earpiece shape is listed as "Hook," the enclosure is thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), and the whole thing weighs 50 g — roughly a quarter of the AILIHEN set. The listing frames the ergonomic hook design as not causing ear pain after long use, which is the classic argument for hook-style buds: the hook carries the weight instead of the ear canal alone. I'd treat that as a design intent rather than a promise, but the shape is clearly aimed at staying put.
The audio specs are close to the AILIHEN set on paper: 32-ohm impedance, dynamic driver, 20 Hz–20,000 Hz. The differences are the 10 mm driver size and 105 dB sensitivity, plus sound isolation, which together point to a loud, efficient, bass-forward little earbud that doesn't need much power to get going. Volume control is handled by a button remote on the cable.
The kit is where this one earns its keep. You get the 3.5 mm sport headphones, a carrying case and two pairs of eartips, so you can swap sizes to find a seal that actually holds. The cable is 1.2 m of high-tensile TPE — shorter than the AILIHEN cord, which makes sense for a device clipped to your arm or sitting in a pocket. There's also a 1-year warranty listed, which is a genuine plus for a wired earbud that's going to get sweated on.
Compatibility is broad and spelled out device by device: Samsung Galaxy A-series and S-series, iPhone 6/6s/6 Plus/5/5s, iPad Mini and Air, iPod touch 5, Google Pixel and Chromebook, OnePlus, Motorola G-series and razr, plus PS4, PS5, laptops, Macs, MP3 players and tablets. The key constraint is the same as any 3.5 mm product: no USB-C or Lightning without an adapter, and no iPhone 7 or later natively.
Buy it if you run, lift, cycle or commute and want buds that hook over the ear, come with a case and spare tips, and cost you almost nothing in weight. Skip it if you want cushioned cups, a longer cable for desk work, or a mic setup that's ready for computer calls.
Side-by-Side: Which Should You Choose?
• Best for long desk, class or study sessions → AILIHEN Headphones. On-ear cushioned cups, adjustable hinge and a 59-inch braided cord are built for sitting still for hours.
• Best for running, gym and sport → AIAUXAI Over Ear Earbuds. Ear hooks, 50 g of weight and a 1.2 m TPE cable are made to move with you.
• Best for travel and packing → AIAUXAI Over Ear Earbuds. The included carrying case and two pairs of spare eartips make it the tidier thing to throw in a bag.
• Best for school kids and teens → AILIHEN Headphones. The listing is aimed squarely at school, homework and online study, and the foldable cups plus braided cord survive normal kid handling.
• Best for phone calls → AILIHEN Headphones. Built-in mic, remote and volume control on the cable for answering and switching tracks; just remember PC volume buttons won't work and computer mic use needs an adapter.
• Best for fit adjustability → AILIHEN Headphones. An adjustable headband beats a fixed hook if your head size or hair volume changes the fit.
• Best for console and handheld gaming → AIAUXAI Over Ear Earbuds. The compatibility list explicitly names PS4, PS5 and Switch-style 3.5 mm devices.
• Best value for a complete kit → AIAUXAI Over Ear Earbuds. Case, spare tips and a 1-year warranty come in the box, which is a lot of extras for a wired earbud. Check the current price on Amazon for both before you decide, since that's the one number that changes.
My Verdict
The mic is built for hands-free calls and track switching over 3.5 mm. On a computer you'll need an additional adapter to use it, and the volume buttons won't work on a PC. On a phone, it works as intended.
That's the whole point of the hook design. The over-ear hooks hold the buds in place instead of relying on the ear canal, and two pairs of eartips let you dial in a better seal. At 50 g you'll barely notice them.
Both list sound isolation. The AILIHEN set uses full-sized on-ear cups, which block more of the room around you; the AIAUXAI buds seal inside the ear canal, which cuts some noise but lets more through. For a noisy classroom or plane, I'd lean AILIHEN.
Neither. Both are 3.5 mm wired headsets. The AIAUXAI list covers iPhone 6/6s/6 Plus/5/5s and older iPads, and AILIHEN works with any 3.5 mm device — so a USB-C or Lightning phone needs an adapter.
The AILIHEN cord is braided and described as not kinking, twisting or breaking under normal use, with foldable cups for storage. The AIAUXAI uses high-tensile TPE and includes a case plus a 1-year warranty. Both are reasonable; the case gives AIAUXAI an edge on storage.
