Healthier Life for Adult, More Discipline for Kids and Self Defense
Welcome to Aiki Ryu Phnom Penh where we practice the art of Budo to foster harmonious and peaceful relationships, cooperation and friendship with others. Budo is more than just a martial art. Budo is a path to personal improvement, health, fitness, and safety awareness. With a focus on the way towards peace, Budo combines beauty and precision to create a practice that benefits both mind and body.
Budo is a Japanese martial art that has many benefits for your physical and mental health.
Mental and Physical Harmony: Budo emphasizes harmony between the mind and body. Through practice, not only are you learning self-defense techniques, but you are also encouraged to improve your relationships with others and grow together. This reduces stress and anxiety and brings peace of mind.
Physical health: Budo is a full-body exercise that increases the heart rate and promotes cardiovascular health. Regular practice improves endurance, muscle strength, and flexibility.
Stress relief: Budo practice reduces stress through relaxation and proper breathing. By freeing the body from tense breathing, energy is increased and overall sense of well-being is improved.
Improvement in posture: Budo requires specific postures and movements, so you will naturally learn to have good posture. This can be expected to improve your posture in your daily life as well.
Improvement in cooperation and balance: Budo techniques use both sides of the body equally, so they improve cooperation and balance. This can make your movements in your daily life smoother as well.
Mental health benefits: Budo can help to increase self-awareness and self-confidence. Beginners in particular may find that their understanding of themselves deepens and their self-esteem improves.
These benefits show that Budo is not just a martial art, but a lifestyle that promotes physical and mental health. Practicing Budo contributes not only to physical strength, but also to spiritual growth, and is a means of enhancing one's overall sense of health.

Discipline and Budo
Budo is considered to be an extremely effective means of disciplining and nurturing children. The specific elements are listed below.
Learning manners and discipline: Through Buido training, children can naturally learn manners and discipline. The manners and etiquette practiced during training are learned without conscious effort, so they do not become a burden for children. Children who grow up in this kind of environment will be able to act with good manners in the future3.
Strengthening of mental strength and perseverance: In aikido, mental strength and perseverance are required in the process of learning techniques. This helps children to develop a positive attitude of not giving up even in difficult situations. In particular, the fact that there are no matches in aikido practice is attractive because it allows children to grow at their own pace.
Mental and physical growth: Budo not only teaches physical techniques, but also promotes mental growth. Through martial arts, children can improve their self-esteem and confidence, and also develop a sense of cooperation with others. These are very important skills for social life.
Praise-based education: Some Budo classes use a “praise-based” approach. This method focuses on supporting children's growth without scolding or punishment, and allows them to learn in a positive environment.
For these reasons, Budo is not just a martial art, but also has great educational value. In Japanese culture in particular, the etiquette and spirituality of martial arts are emphasized, and this contributes to the growth of children.
