Pikachu Cookie Cutter

Tracing

The process started with tracing the Pikachu image to turn it into 3 Dimensional instead of flat image. I used Adobe Illustrator to trace the image. The Pikachu was then separated into a few parts; the outer shape, inner shape (eyes, mouth etc.) and later to be combined together in TinkerCad.

Combine

The images that has been traced will then be saved into SVG formatted file and imported to TinkerCad. Each shape will be combined together using the same size except for the heights. The height of the inner shapes has to be adjusted to be a bit lower than the outer shape. The inner shape has to be lower because it is meant to create just a slight line on the dough while the outer part is a bit higher because it is meant to cut the dough. Other than that, I put two shapes (the red ones) as a support to attach the inner shapes with the outer shapes. When everything has finished, it will then be exported in STL formatted file.

Printing Process

Lastly, the file will be opened in Ultimaker Cura and necessary adjustment will be made during this process. The setting of the printing process will be set up according to the needs of the product. The file will then be sliced and previewed to ensure the product can be printed properly. After everything has been checked and nothing was wrong with the product, the product was printed in Ultimaker 3, a 3D printing machine.
