Research Interest Description:
My research focuses on the total synthesis of bioactive natural products and the mechanistic understanding of key bond-forming reactions, particularly intermolecular Diels–Alder reactions. I have explored hydrogen-bond-mediated transition-state stabilization to control regio-, stereo-, and chemoselectivity, and developed a new synthetic route to epoxyquinoid natural products that can be generalized to related compounds. Recently, I have expanded my interest to machine-learning–assisted reaction mechanism prediction by integrating AI-driven transition-state modeling with experimental validation. Ultimately, I aim to bridge synthetic organic chemistry and computational modeling to design predictable and selective strategies for constructing complex molecular architectures.
