Welcome to AI Captions: Auto Subtitles ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is collected, used, and protected when you use our mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
To provide our core features (AI video captioning, translation, and script generation), we require certain permissions and data:
We require access to your device's gallery to import videos for editing. All video rendering and editing processes are performed locally on your device. We do not upload or store your video files on our servers.
We require these permissions only if you choose to record a video directly within the App.
To generate auto-captions, the App extracts the audio track from your selected video and sends this audio data only to our secure third-party AI transcription provider (Deepgram). The audio is strictly used for transcription and is not retained by us or Deepgram beyond the processing request.
If you use the translation feature, the generated caption text is sent to the Google Cloud Translation API to return translated subtitles.
If you use the AI Script Writer feature, the topic or prompt you enter is sent to the Groq API (powered by advanced language models) to generate a video script. We do not store your prompts or the generated scripts on our servers.
Text entered into the Prompter is processed entirely on-device and is not transmitted to any server.

In the case of an error or crash, we may collect Log Data through third-party tools. This may include your device's IP address, device name, operating system version, app configuration, time and date of use, and other diagnostic statistics. This data is used solely for debugging and improving the App.
All audio and text data transmitted to our third-party APIs (Deepgram, Google, and Groq) are sent via encrypted HTTPS connections. However, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Users can request deletion of their data (such as advertising IDs or processed audio/script logs) by contacting us at abdullahjanjan007@gmail.com. We will process your request within 7 business days and ensure associated data is permanently removed from applicable third-party service logs.
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will immediately delete it from our records.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date above.
