AI STUDENT ASSISTANT
AI STUDENT ASSISTANT
Starting your university journey often comes with a lot of questions:
“What events are happening at the university? Where’s the best place to eat during lunch? How do I navigate campus life? What are some interesting spots to visit in Milan?”
Imagine asking one assistant, and getting answers from hundreds of students and alumni sharing their own experiences. That’s what we offer—a platform to help you find answers, aggregate student knowledge, and never miss out on the exciting events around you.
Our AI assistant is designed to help students, not just with day-to-day questions, but also with valuable career insights, combining the experiences of hundreds of others.
It brings together the best advice from senior students and alumni, helping you stay informed and take advantage of everything Bocconi and Milan have to offer. And it doesn’t stop there—it’s also a career guide, helping you prepare for internships, job opportunities, and beyond!

How Does It Work?
The AI-Assistant based on Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) is a unique solution for providing context-aware, dialogue-based interaction with users. It combines the facilities of large language models (LLM) with dynamic data search and retrieval to provide answers based on a structured knowledge base. The assistant is easily scalable and flexible, making it ideal for organisations looking to integrate AI technologies into their workflows.
The retrieval model is responsible for the dynamical extraction of relevant information. The knowledge base integrates two approaches: the vector database and the knowledge graph.
The vector database contains embeddings - numerical representations of words and phrases that model the semantic relationships between them, enabling efficient searches for relevant information. A knowledge graph is a structured repository of information in which data is organized as nodes and links, enabling efficient data retrieval and better contextual understanding.
Events
Problem: Bocconi offers many interesting events across various fields, but keeping track of them all can be a challenge.
Solution: Our assistant aggregates information from Bocconi's open web sources to recommend events, send reminders, and help students discover activities that align with their interests.
Milan Guide
Problem: Newcomers to Milan often struggle to find the best places to eat, explore, or navigate the city.
Solution: The assistant offers recommendations for restaurants, cultural spots, public transportation, and local experiences, making Milan feel like home.
Student Lifehacks
Problem: Balancing studies, personal life, and navigating adult responsibilities (like apartment hunting or paperwork) can be overwhelming. And finding someone who’s been through it and can offer advice isn’t always easy.
Solution: The assistant offers life hacks from alumni and senior students to help you manage your studies, find apartments, process necessary documents, and maintain work-life balance. It even offers career tips on landing internships or jobs.
Problem: Navigating career opportunities, internships, and job applications can be overwhelming for students, with information scattered across various sources.
Solution: Our assistant brings together career advice and job opportunities in one place, offering personalized recommendations based on your field of study. By leveraging the experiences of fellow students and alumni, it provides valuable tips on CV writing, interview preparation, and successfully navigating the job market.
Tourism Assistant
Problem: With so many amazing places near Milan, planning trips can be overwhelming—where to go, how to plan, where to stay?
Solution: Let the assistant be your travel guide! It gathers travel stories from Bocconi students, suggesting hidden gems and helping you plan the perfect getaway.
Education Assistant
Problem: Bocconi students are lifelong learners but often need help finding the right educational resources or choosing learning paths.
Solution: The assistant provides curated educational resources (books, courses, videos), tracks your progress, and offers reminders to help you stay on track.
What are the key work areas?
