Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the AI Story Writer app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Team devch (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a free app that also offers an optional paid subscription (AI Story Writer Premium). This service is intended for use "AS IS".

Information Collection and Use

AI Story Writer is designed to keep your information on your own device. The Application does not collect or transmit any personal information about you. In particular, the Application does not collect: • Your device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address) • The screens of the Application that you visit, the time and date of your visit, or the time spent on them • Analytics about how you use the Application • Information about the operating system you use on your mobile device

The Application does not gather any information about the location of your mobile device. It does not ask for access to your contacts, your photo library, your microphone or your camera.

The stories you generate — together with their titles, the ideas you wrote, and the genre, length, language and creativity settings you chose — are stored only on your device. They are not sent to the Service Provider, and the Service Provider cannot access them. The same applies to your app settings, such as your chosen theme, appearance and reading text size.

There is no account. You do not sign up, and the Service Provider never asks for your name, email address, phone number or date of birth. Because the Application does not collect your information, the Service Provider will not use it to contact you or to send you marketing.

Story Generation and the AI Provider

Unlike your saved stories, which never leave your device, writing a story requires an internet connection and does involve one transmission. When you tap Generate, the Application sends the following to its artificial intelligence provider, DeepSeek, so that a story can be written and returned to your device: • The story idea you typed • The title you entered, if you entered one • Your chosen genre, length, language, creativity level and any advanced options

This includes anything you type into those fields. You should not enter personal information, confidential material, or anything you would not want processed by a third party into a story idea.

These requests are not linked to you. They are sent using an application key belonging to the Service Provider, not to you, and they carry no name, account, email address, device identifier or advertising identifier.

DeepSeek processes the request in order to write the story and returns the text to your device. DeepSeek's handling of that text is governed by its own privacy policy, which is outside the Service Provider's control and can be read at https://platform.deepseek.com/downloads/DeepSeek%20Privacy%20Policy.html

DeepSeek is established in the People's Republic of China and processes data on infrastructure located there. If you are in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, or another region with data transfer rules, the text you submit is therefore transferred outside that region to a country that has not received an adequacy decision. If this is not acceptable to you, please do not use the story generation feature; every other part of the Application works without it.

Subscriptions and Payments

AI Story Writer offers an optional paid subscription, AI Story Writer Premium. All purchases, billing and renewals are handled by Apple through the App Store — the Service Provider never receives or stores your payment card details or Apple Account credentials. The Application uses Apple's StoreKit only to check, on your device, whether your subscription is active so it can unlock premium features; this does not involve the Service Provider's servers, and no personal information is collected in the process. Your purchase and Apple's handling of it are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/) and the App Store terms.

Third Party Access

The only external service the Application transmits to is DeepSeek, and only the story request described above. No aggregated or anonymized data is sent to analytics or advertising providers, and the Application contains no advertising, tracking or measurement software of any kind. It will never present you with the App Tracking Transparency prompt, because there is nothing for it to ask about.

The Application otherwise relies only on your device's operating system — to store your stories locally, to present the share sheet if you choose to share a story, to process optional subscription purchases through the App Store, and, if you tap "Rate us", to show the system review prompt. Your use of these features and of the App Store is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).

The Application also includes the Lottie animation library to draw artwork. It runs entirely on your device and transmits nothing.

Apart from the story request sent to DeepSeek, the Service Provider does not share your information with third parties, because the Service Provider does not collect or hold it. The Service Provider will nonetheless comply with applicable law, including any obligation to respond to a valid legal request.

Opt-Out Rights

You can stop all use of your information within the Application at any time by deleting individual stories or by uninstalling the Application. You may use the standard uninstall processes available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace. Uninstalling the Application removes its locally stored data from your device. To stop any transmission to the AI provider, simply do not use the story generation feature; the rest of the Application continues to work.

Data Retention Policy

Because your stories and settings are stored only on your device, the Service Provider does not retain them. Your data remains on your device for as long as you keep it there; you can delete any story, or all of your data, at any time from within the Application, and uninstalling the Application deletes its locally stored data (except for any copies that may exist in your own device backups). DeepSeek's retention of the story requests described above is governed by DeepSeek's own privacy policy.

Children

The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13, and the Application does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. Because the Application does not collect any information about you, no such data is transmitted to the Service Provider. The Application can generate fiction across genres including horror and thriller, and is rated accordingly on the App Store. The Service Provider encourages parents and legal guardians to monitor their children's device usage. If you have reason to believe that a child has used the Application in a way that raises a concern, please contact the Service Provider at devch2024@gmail.com so that appropriate action can be taken.

Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. Because your stories and settings are stored on your device rather than on the Service Provider's servers, they are protected by your device's built-in security features, such as your passcode, Face ID/Touch ID, and disk encryption. It is your responsibility to keep your device secure. Requests to the AI provider are sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection. No system is perfectly secure, and the Service Provider cannot guarantee the security of data in transit to, or held by, third parties.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

This privacy policy is effective as of 2026-09-23.

By using the Application, you are consenting to the handling of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
