The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is organizing a Four day short term program on Human-centered AI for empowering Persons with Disability during 12, 13, 17, 18 Sep 2024
Objectives:
The workshop is aimed to nurture participants to apply Human centered design approach & Multimodal Generative AI to enable & empower Persons with Disability . During this workshop, students will create breakthrough and innovative AI solutions to make a difference in the lives of persons with disability. The topics are designed to enable participants to solve the problems of humanity.
The objectives of this workshop is
Ideate with empathy to develop Human centered AI ,
Collaborate as a team with persons with disability to discover human problems, and
Create Human centered AI solutions by hands-on exploration of Multimodal Generative AI

Learn and apply cutting edge AI to develop inclusive solutions to transform lives of persons with disability

Gain Hands-on experience with Human Centered design approach. How to discover humans problems (facing persons with disability) with empathy?
Explore Hands-on lab on State-of-art- Generative AI: LLMs, Multimodal LLMs, Multimodal Few shot learning, langchain, AI agents
Collaborate persons with visual impairment to develop Human Centered AI solutions.
Gain understanding of Accessibility, Assistive Technology for different types of disability. How to solve challenges for persons facing challenges in vision, cognitive, hearing, mobility.

Guidelines for Ideathon
*Time Limit: 90 sec
*Pls make a physical poster on A3 or on Chart paper and bring it
*No ppt or soft copy presentation
*Hard copy ( handmade or printed) will be accepted
Evaluation criteria for idea-a-thon:
Please keep in mind whatever we learnt about Empathy and the concept of "Human centered" AI solutions while preparing for the Ideathon or the Hackathon
Total marks: 1000
Problem statement and Empathy. 300 marks
High marks are those who felt the pain of others, and thus want to solve the problem.
Level of pain alleviated. 300 marks.
Is it a must-solve or ok-to-solve type of problem?
Bonus point: Did you validate your problem statement? 400 marks.
Did the team talk to an expert with disability? Is your idea valid? - Check with an person with disability if they are facing this problem?

*Time Limit: 3mins
*A live demo or a video
Evaluation criteria for hack-a-thon:
Total marks: 1000
Technical implementation. 300 marks
Is the demo working?
Type of Problem you aim to solve. 200 marks.
Is it a must-solve or ok-to-solve type of problem?
Effort taken by members to solve the problem. 200 marks.
How many hours of effort you invested in this project? Did all the team members contribute/work?
Bonus point: Jury's discretion. 200 marks
This is extra points that each jury can award based on personal feeling.
