Copyright Free Resources

"Copyright is a form of protection provided by the laws of the United States (title 17, U.S.Code) to the authors of “original works of authorship,” including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and certain other intellectual works. This protection is available to both published and unpublished works." - United States Copyright Office

For any school project, you must make sure you are following all proper Copyright laws and guidelines. If you have questions, please check with Mrs. Young at rryoung@avon-schools.org or on Schoology.

All images used for projects must be properly cited and you must make sure that you are allowed to use the image (see below for Google search information). Go to BibMe and complete the form to include this information. A proper citation is not just the web address.

Google Search

If you prefer a standard Google search, Google now has an option to search for copyright free images. Search for your image like you usually would, then click on Search Tools, then Usage Rights. Check where it says Labeled for noncommercial reuse and Google will give you the sites/pictures that can be used freely.
