Manage, not just meet, client expectations

Shell Tain of $en$ible Coaching, "the Untangler" spoke at the April 19, 2018 meeting of the Association of Home Businesses.

“Learning how to manage instead of simply meeting your client’s expectations is a sometimes subtle, and often necessary, strength to develop. At the very least it creates calmness and predictability for both you and your clients! We will be exploring some very practical techniques around managing expectations, some which you might not expect!”

During her presentation, Shell shared how letting a client know what to expect from the beginning allows business owners to cultivate solid relationships. Develop material to give to clients so they can refer back to it later.

Pay attention to non-verbal clues to track what you are saying and what your client is saying. If a concern arises, take the high ground and stay focused and keep your attention on the topic.

And consider, if the the business/client relationship is no longer working, it may be time to move on.
