The acronym LGBTQIA+ (also known as LGBTQ or LGBTQ+) stands for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual community, and it also encompasses other sexual orientations and gender identities. within the last 20 years, multiple countries have made the steps toward acceptance and equality with the inclusion of Gay Marriage being legalized as well as the recognition of June being LGBTQ+ Pride Month. Nevertheless, there are still several issues facing the community. People who are apart of the LGBTQ+ community are routinely exposed to discrimination and hate crimes in places such as (but not limited to) the legal system, the workplace, the healthcare system, and even in adoption/foster services.
