AgriPulse+ Privacy Policy
Effective date: 10 July 2026
Last updated: 10 July 2026
AgriPulse+ ("AgriPulse Plus", "we", "us", or "the app") helps farmers get live mandi (market) prices, weather, and government Minimum Support Price (MSP) rates. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act").
The app is operated by Sukhpreet Singh Gill.
1. Who this policy is for
The app is intended for adults aged 18 and over who farm or trade in agricultural markets in India. It is not directed at children.
2. What we collect and why
- Phone number — to create and secure your account and sign you in.
- Your name — for your profile, and to attribute the prices you report on the public community feed and leaderboard (see section 5).
- Location (approximate and precise GPS) — to find your nearest mandi and show local weather. You control this through your device's location permission.
- Farm details — your state, district, mandi, village, land size, and (optionally) your cooperative, so we can show prices and MSP relevant to you.
- Your reports — the crop, mandi, and price you submit, and an optional photo.
- Activity and reputation — reports you make, your karma, streaks, and badges, used for the community leaderboard and recognition.
- Notification token — a device push token (from Google/Expo) so we can send you notifications you have enabled.
- Advertising identifier — your device Advertising ID, used to show ads and, with your consent, to personalise them (see section 6).
We do not collect your bank or UPI details. If a future rewards programme requires them, we will ask for them separately, with clear notice and consent.
3. What we do NOT collect
- We do not use third-party analytics tracking (for example, no PostHog).
- We do not use third-party crash-reporting services (for example, no Sentry).
If this ever changes, we will update this policy and the app's Google Play data-safety disclosure before enabling them.
4. Our legal basis — your consent
We process your personal data based on the consent you give when you create an account and grant permissions (such as location and notifications), as required by the DPDP Act. You can withdraw consent at any time (see section 9); some features may stop working if you do.
5. Information shown publicly
When you report a mandi price, your first name and home district (for example, "Ramesh, Ganganagar"), along with your verified report count and accuracy, are shown to other users on the community feed and monthly leaderboard. Your phone number is never shown publicly. You are told this at sign-up, before you make your first report.
6. Advertising
We show ads through Google AdMob. To do this, the Google Mobile Ads software may use your device's Advertising ID.
- When you first use the app, we show you a consent choice. If you agree, ads may be personalised. If you do not, you will see only non-personalised ads.
- You can reset or limit ad personalisation at any time in your device settings (Settings, then Google, then Ads).
- Paid subscribers do not see any ads.
- Google's handling of advertising data is governed by Google's own policies at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
7. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers we need to run the app:
- Supabase — our secure database, sign-in, and hosting provider (stores your account, reports, and profile).
- Google AdMob — advertising (see section 6).
- Open-Meteo — weather; we send approximate coordinates to fetch your local forecast, without your identity.
- Google and Expo notification services — to deliver notifications you turn on.
- Government of India data.gov.in (Agmarknet) — we read public mandi prices from this source; we do not send it any of your personal data.
We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of our users.
8. How long we keep your data
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account (from the app's Privacy and data screen, or by contacting us), we remove your personal data within 30 days. Prices you already contributed remain in the community dataset but are anonymised — the price stays, your name is removed.
9. Your rights under the DPDP Act
You have the right to: access a copy of your data; correct or update it; erase it; withdraw consent; nominate someone to exercise your rights on your behalf; and raise a grievance. You can use the in-app Privacy and data screen (Export data or Delete account), or contact us using the details in section 13.
10. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest through our hosting provider, and access controls (row-level security) so that users can only access their own data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
11. Children
The app is for adults aged 18 and over and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us their data, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version.
13. Contact and Grievance Officer
For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights:
- Grievance Officer: Sukhpreet Singh Gill, Founder
- Grievance email: grievance@agripulseplus.com
- Support email: support@agripulseplus.com
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India under the DPDP Act.
14. Governing law
This policy and your use of the app are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan.
