R Programming for Advanced Plant Breeding

Number of Batches: Number of Students:
Instructor: Jahid Hasan

This advanced online course is designed for students and researchers in plant breeding who are ready to build on their R programming skills to tackle complex genetic analysis. Focusing on modern breeding techniques, the course offers both theoretical background and hands-on experience with key topics such as marker-assisted selection (MAS), quantitative trait loci (QTL) mapping, genome-wide association studies (GWAS), and high-throughput phenotyping. Using real and simulated datasets, you'll learn to implement analytical pipelines in R, interpret genomic data, and make data-driven decisions in breeding programs. The course also introduces relevant R packages and tools commonly used in genetic analysis. By the end, you’ll be able to apply advanced computational methods to analyze large-scale plant breeding data, contributing to more efficient and precise selection strategies in crop improvement.
