About Us

A Great Notion is a new store in Auburn, MA that aims to be the first of its kind within the community. Offering a wide variety of shopping and educational opportunities, A Great Notion will specialize in selling new and used books and a myriad of apparel and household-items sourced from other small businesses around the country.

While fulfilling a bookstore-sized hole in Auburn, AGN also aims to root itself in the educational foundation of the town offering a range of affordable after-school opportunities and assistance to students of all ages in an effort to improve the literacy, writing abilities, and social skills of the future of our community.

As a school counselor and English teacher, education and reading mean so much to us, and we want to spread and foster that love within Auburn - all while offering a warm, comfortable space to shop and relax.

For this local couple, starting bookshop 'A Great Notion' in AuburnTyler and Courtney Galicia started A Great Notion, a bookshop with materials donated by community and purchases from Books by the Foot.

Offering a variety of new and used, classic and contemporary, book-lovers of fiction and literature are bound to find a title that suits their needs on any visit. Lists curated specially by the staff will feature titles and authors loved by us, but also aims to fulfill requests and interests of the community.
