As an avid listener of many podcasts, I was excited to listen to Google Teacher Tribe! I listened to this episode because as a big fan of Google Classroom, I wanted to find out about apps and tools that have seamless integration with Google Classroom. Podcast hosts Matt and Kasey covered the following technologies:
- Duolingo - While I may not have much use for Duolingo as a teaching tool, I have used the mobile application before; it's exciting that it can be so easily integrated with Google Classroom!
- EdPuzzle - I thought it was so funny that they covered this tool right after I had used it for the first time to complete the Week 3 assignment, but I am even happier to find out that it can be integrated with Google Classroom! I will definitely be making use of this tool.
- Quizlet - I haven't used Quizlet before, but it seems like it could come in handy if I wanted to use electronic flashcards and games to reinforce vocabulary terms.
- Flipgrid - I love Flipgrid! I am already familiar with its Google Classroom integration, and I will definitely be using this tool a lot more this coming school year as I adjust to a modified schedule with less student contact time.
- Quizizz - This platform seems similar to Kahoot, but I like that students can play a "live game" (similar to Kahoot) or play solo for practice. I will definitely try this platform with my students.
- Insert Learning - This seems like a really great tool that can be used to help guide students as they explore a particular Internet resource! This may come in handy for research projects.
This podcast was interesting to listen to; I will definitely add this to my ever-growing list of podcast subscriptions!
