Flipgrid is one of the resources that I began to dabble in toward the end of the 2018-2019 school year, and it worked well as a tool for students who wanted to go above and beyond what we were able to accomplish in class and submit extra work or showcase additional skills they had learned on their own. However, I think this tool will be something I make much more use of in upcoming years, as my school district has cut the amount of contact time I have with each class by 25%, meaning that I will have to find appropriate time-saving alternatives to be able to deliver the same curriculum with much less face-to-face instructional time.
Flipgrid is going to play a huge role in this, especially in the grade levels in which students are preparing for performances. Flipgrid allows students to submit video responses to a prompt; this way I will be able to test the students on their music and see what I need to concentrate on more during class time. I will also be able to respond via video to each student, providing valuable feedback that will aid in students' practice efforts.
