In short: this extension runs entirely on your device. It reads the page you explicitly choose to scan, stores the results in your browser's local storage, and never sends anything to a server we control. We don't sell, share, or monetize your data — there isn't a server on our end to send it to.
The rest of this page explains exactly what's accessed, why, and how you can delete it.
Age-Gate Compliance Checker is a diagnostic tool for site owners, affiliates, and compliance consultants. When you click "Run scan" on a page, it reads that page's DOM to detect whether an age-verification mechanism is present and how it behaves, then checks the result against a jurisdiction-specific compliance checklist you select. It does not modify, block, or restrict the page in any way — it only reads it.
Permission
What it's used for
activeTab / tabs
Identify the URL and hostname of the tab you're auditing, open the generated report in a new tab, and manage the short-lived background tabs used by batch scanning.
scripting
Inject the scanner script into a page only when you click "Run scan" — never automatically or in the background.
storage
Save your scan history, selected jurisdiction, and plan/license status locally via chrome.storage.local.
sidePanel
Display the extension's interface in Chrome's side panel.
host permission (all sites)
Let you run a scan on whichever site you're auditing — since those sites can be any domain, the extension needs the ability to run there when you ask it to.
Everything below is stored only in your browser, using chrome.storage.local. None of it leaves your device or reaches any server we operate:
Scan results: the URL scanned, a timestamp, the jurisdiction selected, and the technical signals detected on the page (e.g., whether a verification element was found, whether it appears to block content, whether known vendor scripts are present).
Your selected jurisdiction and onboarding preferences.
Your plan status (free or Pro) and, if activated, your license key — used only to unlock features locally, never transmitted anywhere.
We don't operate a server that receives your scans, your browsing activity, or any data from this extension.
We don't sell or transfer your data to third parties.
We don't use your data for advertising, credit scoring, lending, or any purpose unrelated to running the scan you asked for.
We don't track your browsing outside of the specific page you choose to scan.
We don't collect passwords, payment details, or other authentication data.
The paid "Pro" tier is unlocked by pasting a license key into the extension. Validation happens entirely on your device using a local checksum — no account, login, or network request is involved. The key itself is purchased through a separate checkout page (Hotmart), which has its own privacy policy governing that transaction.
Scan history and settings remain in your browser's local storage until you remove them. You can clear everything at any time by removing the extension in chrome://extensions, which deletes its local storage along with it.
This is a B2B compliance tool intended for site owners, affiliates, and compliance professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change with it. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
