The Cincinnati Bengals are investing to bring football to more women, especially high school female student-athletes, through the fast-growing and fun sport of flag football. Six local high schools participated in the first-annual Jamboree at Paycor Stadium on Sept. 30, 2023. These six schools will hold Cincinnati's first girls high school flag football season in Spring 2024. Thanks to support from the Bengals, USA Football and Nike, each school was provided the equipment and uniforms to kick off their pilot season. Please fill out the form below if you are interested in bringing girls flag football to your high school!

To support high quality physical education, and grow opportunities for students to be active before, during and after school, since 2014 the Bengals have teamed up with GENYOUth and the NFL Foundation, to donate NFL Flag kits to physical education classes in Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana to help local P.E. teachers build a foundation of healthy, lifelong physical activity for their students.

Thanks to the support from Kettering Health, during the 2023-24 school year, 100 new schools across Bengals Nation will receive free flag football kits for their physical education classes. Each free kit will include a 10-week flag football curriculum for the teacher, flag belts, footballs & pinnies to use in gym class.

The jamboree is an occasion when school bands join together in a celebration for music and their halftime shows. The event was held on Sep. 17 at Cairo High School. In total, there were around 12 bands that performed and a few thousand spectators attended, according to TCCHS Assistant Band Director Paul Johns.

Home to more than 60 schools located in every neighborhood of the community, Des Moines Public Schools provides families with choices to meet the educational needs of students from preschool through college-level courses.

But the event was more than a beginning. It was also a culmination, a showcase that drew lots of attention to the lots of attention that district officials have directed at the importance of extra-curricular involvements in the overall makeup of a student, particularly at the crossroads stage of middle school.

This is what district administrators were talking about when they presented a report to the school board last month about the plan to ratchet up extra-curricular programming for 6th-8th graders. It looks and feels a lot different on a sunny September after-school afternoon than it does in a series of PowerPoint slides.

Little did the 8th grade gridders know they were tackling more than ball carriers last night at the jamboree. The persistent problem of how to get at-risk kids hooked on school? It took a pounding last night at Williams Stadium.

Tickets for the Dave Spurlock CCSD Football Jamboree are available for purchase for $6 a person online (children five years old and under are free) at this GoFan.co link. Attendees are asked to save their proof of purchase to their email accounts and present their digital tickets on their mobile devices at the gate. Fans can buy tickets with cash in person at the entrance on the day of the event. Proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit all 12 of the participating schools.

I first saw the bear band perform when I was 3 years old while visiting Disneyland for my birthday in 1986. To say I became hooked is an understatement. I think a troupe of giant bears singing on a stage would catch the attention of any 3 year old, but as I got older I kept going to see the show more and more. After getting an annual pass in 1994, I began to visit Disneyland multiple times a week after school, and the Country Bear Theater was a stop during almost every visit. I grew up in the 80s and 90s, so the only version of the show I was familiar with initially was the Vacation Hoedown (which ran in Disneyland from 1986 to 2001, and Walt Disney World from 1986 to 1992). I still love this version of the show and consider it to be my favorite of the three shows (the regular, Vacation Hoedown, and Christmas Special).

On a night when we celebrate the beginning of a new school year and start of the fall sports season, it deeply saddens us to hear of the tragic loss of life and senseless violence that involved members of our Association family.

Our thoughts go out to the family who lost their daughter, along with the students, coaches, teachers, administrators and officials that were participating in the jamborees. It is unfortunate we live in a society in which senseless violence and lack of respect for others has become a part of everyday life.

The center was named after Lewis Hancock who brought golf to Austin in 1889. He along with 69 other Austinites formed the Austin Country Club. In 1946, the Austin Country Club found the need to move and sold the clubhouse and property to the City of Austin. The Country Club remained on site until 1951 when their new facility was being built. In 1951, the land was designated as dedicated parkland and the building and golf course became open for use by the citizens of Austin. 006ab0faaa
