I migrated all of my Smart Lighting Routines to (Automation) Routines a while back just like this using one Routine since the light will stay on as long as there is continued triggering motion resetting the Turn Off timeout clock just like Smart Lighting did, and it runs local just like Smart Lighting did.

If there is another motion active event then the timers will be reset. Whether that requires an intermediate inactive (no motion) detection depends on whether the device repeatedly reports motion and whether the integration only reports changes of state.

Any more update on this? It would be nice to not have to use two routines to cover the situations described above when the old Smart Lighting automation allowed you to set a time after motion had stopped to turn off the light.

The current solution for myself and others, as helpfully noted by user @Onehockeydad is to disable advanced motion detection and instead rely on the still functional but sub-optimal basic motion detection with pre-set zone control.

I and others would really appreciate getting a technical response from the Ring team, (especially as to whether the advanced motion zoning feature is actually intended to be a non-subscription feature) and a statement of what the plan of action going forwards is.

Hi @Mitchell_rachel. This may be a result of Smart Alerts. Smart Alerts is a setting that refines your motion notifications and is a Ring Protect Plan specific feature. You can learn more about Smart Alerts here.

I wanted to do a simple zoom out transition between 2 clips so what I have been usually doing is to add motion tile on both the clips and on top of them add an adjustment layer. After adding the transform effect on the adjustment layer, I set the scale to 70 and recently I've been experienceing an issue where the motion tile effect on the clip disappears. The effect itself on the clip is toggled on and nothing is changed but when I change the scale on the transform, there are black borders as shown in the image.

If I change the scale measure on the actual clip itself (which is a work around but limits many things), it works (image below) and there are no black borders but I would like to know why the transform on the adjustment layer removes the effects of the motion tile on the clip.

I was expecting the adjustment layer way to work just like the second way as it normally did for me. Also as demonstrated in this video, it works like I would want it to but it doesn't for me: zoom with bounce shake // tutorial after effects - YouTube

Hey guys.....well i too had a problem with motion tile....and i was just messing around with it and look what it started rendering and exporting....The problem was tht i had to higher the value of height and width between 0to 500...i had taken that to 1000 unknownly so....the problem occurred....hope this will help u out....BTW i have channel on yt naming MSD NAILED IT.....only have 100 subs plz make sure u guys subscribe it.....dont need views.... is there a way to make a rule for fan off when motion is not detected after X amount of minutes? The homekit parameters are really bad and was looking to see if eve has something to solve the issue? any guidance would help thanks a lot.

What Motion Sensor are you using? In my case, using a Fibaro Motion Sensor, I can configure how long a motion alarm stays set to ON until it switches back to OFF. So for me, after the configured 30s, the alarm changes automatically from ON to OFF if no further movement is detected and a simple small rule can switch the light off.

In a rule you can get the current hour with

I have a Philips Hue motion sensor in my garage. It is being "controlled by HomeKit" and not the Hue app. I also have some ceiling lights in the garage on a Lutron Caseta switch that is enabled in HomeKit.

My goal is to have the lights turn on automatically when the motion sensor is triggered, and then turn off automatically when no one is out there, which I have defined as 5 minutes after the last motion was detected. (Ie, 5 minutes after "no more motion".)

I originally set up 2 automations: One detects motion and turns on the light. Auto turn off is never. The second automation was "When No Motion is detected in Garage", which is defined as "Garage sensor" -- Stops detecting motion -- turn off the light (set tha Light to off).

Since you cannot a delay built in to the automation main action, I changed the second automation to turn "ON" the lights when it stops detecting motion, and put a 5 minute auto-off on the same automation. The problem is the lights never go out. You leave the garage, and there is no motion, which should turn off after 5 minutes, but nothing happens.

Purpose:  To conduct a systematic review of overlapping meta-analyses comparing early versus delayed motion rehabilitation protocols after rotator cuff repair to determine which meta-analyses provide the best available evidence.

Methods:  A systematic review was performed by searching PubMed and Cochrane Library databases. Search terms included "rotator cuff repair," "early passive motion," "immobilization," "rehabilitation protocol," and "meta-analysis." Results were reviewed to determine study eligibility. Patient outcomes and structural healing were extracted from these meta-analyses. Meta-analysis quality was assessed using the Oxman-Guyatt and Quality of Reporting of Meta-analyses (QUOROM) systems. The Jadad decision algorithm was then used to determine which meta-analyses provided the best level of evidence.

Results:  Seven meta-analyses containing a total of 5896 patients met the eligibility criteria (1 Level I evidence, 4 Level II evidence, 2 Level III evidence). None of these meta-analyses found immobilization to be superior to early motion; however, most studies suggested that early motion would increase range of motion (ROM), thereby reducing time of recovery. Three of these studies suggested that tear size contributed to the choice of rehabilitation to ensure proper healing of the shoulder. A study by Chan et al in 2014 received the highest QUOROM and Oxman-Guyatt scores, and therefore this meta-analysis appeared to have the highest level of evidence. Additionally, a study by Riboh and Garrigues in 2014 was selected as the highest quality study in this systematic review according to the Jadad decision algorithm.

Conclusion:  The current, best available evidence suggests that early motion improves ROM after rotator cuff repair but increases the risk of rotator cuff retear. Lower quality meta-analyses indicate that tear size may provide a better strategy in determining the correct rehabilitation protocol.

I use the cam pan to track my dogs movement in the house. I have Motion Tracking on, Motion tagging on, and Detecion Zones off.

When he moves, the camera will follow using motion tracking, but once no motion is detected, the camera will move back to the last spot I had manually moved it to.

This gets annoying as the spot the camera moves back to is out of the view of the dog, meaning the next time he moves again, the camera will not be recording.

As long as a motion alarm or contact alarm is active, the zone will be and stay active, there is no timeout for this, this includes alarms that are in a sub zone (zone inside the zone that is active) of that zone that is active.

I have a 3d camera in motion quickly trucking in on a object, i want to get that great motion blur effect as if the layer were in motion moving towards the camera. How can i apply motion blur to when the camera moves?

I bought some new 2 gig pir1 motion detectors and set them up. Went through the walk test, but was still unsure, so I armed away and tried to trigger the alarm. I walked my whole house and different rooms for a good 5 minutes before I triggered a motion alarm which is a little concerning. Is there a delay between arming away and when the motion detectors will work? All of the motion detector status were active because I was walking around the house right before I armed away.

Walking around your house to test, then immediately attempting to trip them again would definitely cause a delay. The best way to test motion detectors in the home to determine they are functioning as expected is to arm the system away, wait 3 minutes out of range of any detector, then walk around the home tripping them. You could instead wait 3 minutes out of range of motion detectors, then arm the system away from your phone and walk through the home, tripping them.

thanks. I installed a motion detector in my bathroom facing my closet. Want to make sure nobody breaks a bathroom window and tries to access the closet. The closet door is a mirror. Will that be an issue for the pir motion detector?

I currently have a group of joints (bound to objects) moving along a motion path as desired. At the end of the path, I would like to switch to key frame animation. I tried moving the group and creating a key frame there a few frames after the motion path animation ends, but it disconnects from the motion path and stays in place, even after I go back to frame 1. How can I switch to key frame animation after the end of the motion path animation, but still keep it connected to the motion path?

Attach one locator to the motion path. Create a second locator at the end of the motion path. Use a parent constraint for your group of joints where the two targets are the two locators. Set the weights to {1,0} whilst the motion path animation is running. Animate the weights so that they switch to {0,1} when you reach the end of the path. You are now free to keyframe the second locator. e24fc04721
