Elizabeth Wathuti is a renowned Kenyan environmental and climate activist and the visionary founder of the Green Generation Initiative (GGI). Elizabeth's commitment to nurturing a generation of environmentally conscious young people has seen the GGI plant over 30,000 tree seedlings across Kenya since its inception in 2016.

Her journey into environmental activism began in Nyeri County, one of Kenya’s most forested regions. Here, Elizabeth developed a deep appreciation for nature, which evolved into a determined effort to combat environmental degradation. She revived her high school’s environmental club and later, as a graduate of Kenyatta University with a BA in Environmental Studies and Community Development, she founded the Green Generation Initiative to instill a love for nature in children and encourage them to "clean their air, grow their food, and create their own green spaces."

In 2019, she received the Africa Green Person of the Year Award from the Eleven Eleven Twelve Foundation and was named one of the 100 Most Influential Young Africans by the Africa Youth Awards. As the National Coordinator for 350 Kenya, Elizabeth has been a formidable force in advocating for climate action.
