Alex Feliciano Mejía (he/they) is an ethnographic scholar of race, language, and education, as well as a media artist working at the intersection of video, sound, writing, and printmaking.
Their scholarly work studies the creative language and literacy practices of communities marginalized by racial capitalism. His creative writing and art practice involves explorations of diaspora, racialization, memory, and the limits/possibilities posed by language for understanding these themes across modalities.
Alex is currently an Assistant Professor of Critical Literacy in the College of Education at San Francisco State, where he is also an MFA student in the Creative Writing department.
