AFib Monitor is an app running a robust algorithm for the monitoring of the heart rate (HR) and the detection of atrial fibrillation (AF). It is designed to operate using photoplethysmogrphy (PPG) signals acquired from the optical sensors, usually located on the bottom part of the smartwatches.
The application does not collect and share personal data to any third parties. Each collected data such as PPG signal samples, HR information, detected AF events are kept within the user's smartwatch memory.
Permissions:
The application will ask for the permission to activate body sensors, that is, an optical sensors at the bottom of the device used to acquire PPG signal, which, in turn is used to monitor HR and AF.
There is also a foreground service, which is required in order to monitor heart rate continuously in the background. User is notified at the bottom of the screen when this service is activated.
This is not a medical-grade application, therefore, data provided in this application should be considered as recommendatory and each suspected AF onset should be considered with caution.
