President - Sarah Betz

Sarah Betz is currently the PTSA President. Sarah and her husband have lived in Atascadero for the past six years, moving from San Luis Obispo. Their daughter, Lilly, attends the Fine Arts Academy as an 8th grader and their son, Christopher, graduated from Atascadero High School in 2018. Sarah is the Assistant Principal at Atascadero Middle School, and was the Principal for Creston and Carrisa Plains Elementary School prior to her current position. Sarah and her family love hiking, paintballing, and being outside in the fresh air. As a first year member of the PTA, Sarah is thrilled to be able to work with an amazing team to support the students, staff, and families of the Atascadero Fine Arts Academy.

Executive Vice President - Dan Cash

Treasurer - David Wilson

John “Dave” Wilson is this year’s PTSA Treasurer. He has a 6th grader at Fine Arts as well as a senior at the HS. He’s been a local teacher since 2010 and currently teaches Math and Science at Almond Acres Charter Academy in San Miguel. Dave loves the color purple and absolutely loves camping, the outdoors, and adventure of all kinds. His favorite places include Big Sur, Joshua Tree, and most places with Sierra Granite or volcanic activity like Oregon and the Cascades. For many years he owned and operated Coyote Regional Outdoor Adventures providing local outdoor natural science programs for all ages and has been a local musician in the Cocktail Shorty Band.

Secretary - Samadhy Moises-Coots

Samadhy Coots help the AFAA PTSA with the duties of treasurer and their website. She and her husband live in Santa Margarita with their daughter, who attends 6th grade at Fine Arts, and son, who is in Kindergarten at Santa Margarita Elementary. Samadhy owns a graphic/web design business, while also working part-time at The Range and Buona Tavola. She enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors and good food & wine. She heads up the Santa Margarita Beautiful Committee as giving back to her community is a important as being involved in her kids schools. She looks forward to helping out and finding ways to improve our lovely Jewel of a School.

Historian - Bethany Collins

Bethany is the current Historian for the Atascadero Fine Arts Academy PTSA. She has a 4th grader at Fine Arts, a 9th grader at Atascadero High School, and a 1st grader at San Benito. She also works at Santa Rosa Elementary School in a 5th grade classroom. Bethany also performs with her band Soleffect on the central coast, and feels that the Arts are vital for self expression, creativity and personal growth. She is grateful to be a part of such a wonderful community and is excited to support the Fine Arts families!

Social Media - Carrie White

Carrie White currently serves as the Social Media Chair on the PTSA Executive Board. She and her husband Wade have one child who attends Atascadero Fine Arts Academy; William, who is in fourth grade. Their daughter Wren is in second grade at San Benito Road Elementary School. Carrie has been an active member of PTA since William was in transitional kindergarten in 2014/2015. Carrie is also the President of the 24th District PTA, on the Executive Board of CASA SLO County and works full time as the Executive Assistant to the CEO at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center. Carrie is very proud to dedicate her time as a volunteer to help enrich the school experience for all the students at Atascadero Fine Arts Academy. She knows that it takes a village to raise a child and is honored to be a part of yours!

Social Media - Anna Rodriguez

Anna Rodriguez is new to the AFAA PTSA team this year and will be serving as the Social Media Co-chair. She is an Atascadero native, briefly taking a decade vacation in Santa Barbara where she met and married her husband Carmelo. They are the proud parents of Paloma, a fourth grader at AFAA and Max, a new sixth grader at the Middle School. She works for her family's HVAC and Refrigeration business during the week and always makes time to help out on campus and in the classrooms. Anna has been active in PTA for four years and looks forward to bringing the same energy to the Fine Arts Academy. Anna is an advocate for not only her children's educational success, but for all of the AFAA students and families. Anna feels privileged to be welcomed into the AFAA family and is committed to its continued excellence.
