Pinewood Derby
Pinewood Derby
Aeros Racing had the opportunity to work with a local Cub Scout pack through their Pinewood Derby, using the event to introduce younger students to STEM, engineering, and racing. On January 6, 2026, our team first visited to teach the Cub Scouts about the basics of STEM cars, engineering concepts, and how racing teams like Aeros Racing design and build for performance. We talked about how science, math, and creativity all come together in motorsports and answered questions about what it’s like to be part of a STEM racing team.
We returned on February 7, 2026, to support the Cub Scouts during their Pinewood Derby races. Our team helped with setup, assisted during the races, and worked directly with the Scouts as they competed with their cars. Throughout the event, we continued teaching STEM concepts, explaining how small design choices affect speed and performance, and giving them a glimpse into what a future high school STEM experience can look like. By mentoring, racing alongside, and encouraging the Scouts, Aeros Racing aimed to inspire curiosity, confidence, and excitement for STEM at an early age.
