Aerospace Structures Reliability Lab

To design and manufacture super reliable structures for a new space era that is affordable to all.

Why Reliability

How many flights could SpaceX do with a single booster?

“I don’t want to be cavalier, but three isn’t an obvious limit. 100+ flights are possible.” - Elon Musk

In pursuit of a lasting and cost-effective human presence in space, lowering the levelized cost of aerospace structures by improving the lifetime and reliability arises as a crucial task.

How to design structures not only lightweight and strong, but also super reliable? Sitting at the intersection of nonlinear mechanics, reliability engineering, and advanced manufacturing of composites, we are poised to answer this question in the years to come!
