Mathias March. 

Born to the March Hare not long after Auradon was created Mathias was aware of the consequences of actions when coming from those that the Royals deemed below them.

The March Hare was a 'sidekick' he was the best friend of the 'Mad Hatter' and aided in the defeat of the Jabberwok, and the Red Queen, but their heroics were forgotten in favor of Alice (although Alice always refused to accept the thought process of the royals, she remembered who fought by her side in her time of need.)

Mathias was born not long after the marriage between Jefferson and Alice, merging the Kingsleigh-Hatter clans together, and Mat was raised knowing that his aunt and uncle were the 'heroes' of their little story.

But those born from Wonderland can often be cursed.

Maty learned at a young age, that he was one of the lucky ones to be born with magic around him, able to shift between human and Hare, and able to wield a form of magic with (oddly) a spoon as a focus point for him. Yet, this magic also came with a price, Wonderland also chose Maty to inherit the madness of his father and the Hatter; often bursting into moments of insanity that can only be calmed by those he trusted

 Verses 

Isle of the Lost: One of Maty's bouts of insanity happens at the most inopportune moments and is witnessed by a member of the royal circle, the darkness of Wonderland magic causing Maty to lash out at someone harassing the smallest child of his Uncle Hatter. That person lost their hand but never lost the memory to keep their distance from the Hightopp-Kigsleigh clan.

Though Maty was only ten at the time, he was still banished to the Isle, cut off from his shifter ability and only feeling a glimmer of the magic he had been born with; he soon gave into the nickname his father gained many years before.

Mad March.

Auradon: After accidentally maiming someone at the age of ten, Mathias was given a warning to keep himself under control or his actions will have dire consequences. Due to this, Maty keeps to himself unless around those he trusts; although, he does sometimes get roped into some mischief alongside his 'cousins'
