In the context of Creative Engineering, Brainstorming is a methodology to come up with ideas for products/services/solutions when there is no immediate direction or problem to solve
If you've ever thought, "I am not creative", this methodology is the key to solving that particular issue - so long as you use and follow the methods shown here
A Scene is a place, activity, or scenario that you do (personally)
Examples of scenes include:
Going Camping
Brushing your Teeth
Doing Homework
To be more creative, come up with multiple scenes in your life - as many as you can think of, write down
A Problem is just that - a problem or less-than-ideal aspect of a particular scene
Examples of problems for the previous scenes include:
Setting up a tent in the rain
Toothpaste won't squeeze out of the tube easily
Getting distracted doing homework
Come up with multiple problems for every scene
A Solution is an answer to a specific problem
Examples of solutions for the previous problems include:
A tent that sets itself up
A self-squeezing toothpaste tube
A set of blinders to help you focus on homework
Since there is no perfect solution to any given problem, you should come up with multiple solutions for every problem
By now, you should be swimming in a sea of ideas - some far-fetched, some simple, and everything in between...so where do you start?
You need to narrow down and prioritize your solutions, and there are several ways you can do so, two such methods are shown here:
