Identify a formed sheet metal shape/project to manufacture, and create 3D-printed tooling to formed the part, using a hydraulic press
Design forming dies using CAD, ensuring to account for material thickness and bend considerations
If the product/design you are forming is to be made of steel, use material no thicker than 0.040" (1.0 mm)
If the product/design you are forming is to be made of aluminum, use material no thicker than 0.0625" (1.5 mm)
3D-Print the designs of your forming dies
Use your printed forming dies in conjunction with a hydraulic press (in the lab) to emboss/deboss your design into the sheet metal
Adjust the design of your forming dies as needed to achieve your end result
