Privacy Policy
Effective date: [April 9, 2026]
This Privacy Policy explains how Appolyze ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the Appolyze Duplicate Photos Cleaner mobile application (the "App").
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, you can contact us at:

1. Overview
Appolyze Duplicate Photos Cleaner is designed to help users find exact duplicate photos on their devices, review them, and delete extra copies manually. We aim to minimize data collection and process photo-related actions primarily on the user’s device.
2. Information We Access and Process
Depending on how you use the App, we may access or process the following categories of information:
1. Photos and media files on your device
The App requests access to your device’s images in order to scan your gallery, identify exact duplicate photos, group duplicates for review, and allow you to delete selected copies.
2. Purchase and subscription information
If you choose to subscribe to Premium, the App uses Google Play Billing to display subscription products, process purchases, restore purchases, and determine whether Premium access is active on your device.
3. Device and app interaction data used by third-party services
If you use the free version, the App uses Google Mobile Ads to display ads. As part of ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and related operations, Google and its partners may process certain device or usage data in accordance with their own privacy terms.
4. Locally stored app data
The App stores certain information locally on your device, such as:
- Premium activation status and selected product ID
- Protected photo selections
- Scan history and cleanup summary data
3. Permissions We Request
The App currently requests the following Android permissions:
1. READ_MEDIA_IMAGES
Used on supported Android versions to access image files so the App can scan your gallery for exact duplicate photos.
2. READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and lower)
Used on older Android versions to access image files for the same purpose.
We request photo access only in the context of the App’s core functionality: scanning your gallery for duplicate images. The App is not designed to access your photos for unrelated purposes.
4. How We Use Information
We use information only for the purposes necessary to operate the App, including:
- Scanning accessible image files to detect exact duplicate photos
- Displaying duplicate groups for user review
- Deleting photos only when you explicitly choose to do so
- Saving protected-photo choices and scan history on your device
- Showing ads in the free version
- Enabling Premium purchases, restoring purchases, and recognizing Premium status
5. How Photos Are Handled
Your photos are processed primarily on your device for duplicate detection and review. We do not intentionally upload your photo library to our own servers for duplicate scanning as part of the App’s normal operation.
Please note that if third-party SDKs integrated into the App process technical data during app use, that processing is governed by those providers’ policies and is separate from photo scanning itself.
6. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share or allow access to limited data through third-party service providers used by the App, such as:
- Google Play Billing, for subscription and purchase processing
- Google Mobile Ads, for ad delivery, ad measurement, and related services
These third parties may process data according to their own privacy policies and terms.
7. Data Storage, Retention, and Deletion
Most app-specific data described in this policy is stored locally on your device.
Local app data, such as protected photo selections, Premium status cache, and scan history, may remain on your device until:
- you clear the app’s data,
- you uninstall the App, or
- the App overwrites or removes that data during normal use.
Photos that you choose to delete are removed only based on your action. We do not automatically delete photos without your confirmation.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our own servers. If you believe a child has provided personal data in connection with the App, contact us and we will review the issue.
9. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect data handled by the App. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your Choices
You may:
- deny photo permission, although the App’s duplicate scanning features will not function without it;
- uninstall the App at any time;
- clear app data from your device settings;
- manage or cancel subscriptions through your Google Play account settings.
11. Third-Party Services
The App may rely on third-party services, including:
