Women's Spider-Gwen Costume For Adults

Whether she's known as Spider-Gwen, Ghost-Spider or simply Gwen Stacy, there's no denying that this young woman is a fan-favorite. After all, many of us first met her in The Amazing Spider-Man films and their sequels back in 2012 and 2014 and she played a key role in helping Miles Morales come into his own in the 2018 film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

While the masked heroine herself was played by actor Shameik Moore, Gwen's costume was designed by writer/artist Jason Latour, who worked with colorist Robbi Rodriguez and designer Rico Renzi. It's a look that's both immediately recognizable as Spider-Gwen, but also unique enough to stand on its own.

Latour recently posted a Twitter thread explaining the three considerations that guided his design process for the character's outfit. First, it had to be visually distinct from the classic red and blue spidey suit; second, it needed to reflect the multiversal version of Gwen that they were creating; and finally, it had to be something that both Latour and Rodriguez could draw again and again without losing their enthusiasm for the character.
