The ADSAC is a growing network of various chartered student organizations at Georgia State University (GSU) that share a common interest in empowering and advancing members of the African diasporic community. ADSAC aims to address the issues of systematic racism through the means of higher education. The ultimate goals of a university are equalizing the United States’ playing field through education and pushing society forward by producing productive citizens. Therefore, ADSAC advocates that Georgia State University provides effective resources and services that address the needs of Black students so they can overcome barriers that impede their academic and professional success. In addition to the ADSAC actively advocating for African descent students, we also recognize the importance of extending this advocacy to Black employees and local residents. Furthermore, from ADSAC being able to connect with the large GSU population ADSAC will use this to its advantage to organize or support efforts that collectively advance and empower all Black people through immediate and fundamental change. Even though ADSAC focuses on issues concerning members of the Black community, ADSAC recognizes the plight of other underrepresented racial groups. The Coalition is in solidarity with efforts that help advance any underrepresented racial group, and ADSAC welcomes the invitation to be an ally to organizations that are leading such efforts.
