It was the year 2015. The insurgents gained an upper hand back in 2012, claiming most of the world because of something that happened with the foundation, making their rule where it was nearly impossible for the little foundation forces that were left and the GOC to strike back. The GOC continued to lose battle after battle, with so many deep infiltrators on both sides that continued to feed the information out towards the insurgency. You were never able to tell who was there for the right cause and who wasn't.
It was the middle of Norway, at a GOC Embassy, one of the few left in the world, and it still stood tall, fighting against the insurgents and Sarkics that kept invading. Adrian still fought for what was left of mankind and the hope he had.
The embassy, on the other hand, wasn't looking too good. Insurgents were wiping out the sarkics that were getting closer to take control and were brainwashing the last of the GOC that still attempted to stand against them, who ended up captured after losing several other embassies around the world, and they still continued to surround the base with numbers; all windows and exits had an insurgent waiting for one of them to flee, to run. Though the Insurgents that already pushed inside had most of the building under their control and even had a GOC Ambassador captured, Ambassador 'King' still continued to fight while they had him captured. They continued to keep control with the amount of insurgents that surrounded the embassy, and even attempted to negotiate their surrenders... with that coming to no end they broadcasted his death on every radio channel that was left to the GOC, with his final few words playing over it "Continue to fight Global Occult Coalition." and with that a single gunshot followed, with even more words that he always hated to hear that followed shortly after "Long live the insurgency." It was a familiar voice he knew all too well. A CI Commander that was captured long ago, and was almost sentenced to death by the GOC, CI Supreme Commander 'Turnover' but with what GOC forces that remained inside the embassy still putting up a fight with what resources they had left were all given the order to retreat to fall back to a base down in Eritrea, most forces slowly began to move back outside killing any insurgent that stood in their ways being able to make their way to a boat, something of praise being given to all of them after the several day battle they were able to put up against the insurgents, a lot of them listened as she spoke over the radio, they knew they had to assist with another battle that was on going and from what Adrian knew they were winning and pushing back the forces that were surrounding the base in embassy in Somalia. It was then a different voice played over all of their radios it was GOC Supreme Commander 'Queen' standing tall with her forces that were pushing them back out and away from the embassy and back into the hole known as "Cell-Platinum" while her voice started to come over all the radios of the men fleeing to the boats they continued to open fire on the insurgents that continued to follow "Forget about the base in Germany, push down here and be ready to fight... we have several of the insurgents' leaders captured and we sure could use the help boys." And from what they all knew, it would only be a few weeks before they arrived at the base up in Eritrea as they boarded to assist in continuing to push them back out and away from the embassy. Yet, despite the long boat ride, he continued to hold onto that small glimmer of hope of being able to properly sleep at night without any invading forces pushing inside the base. It was always that time of day they liked to raid and plan their moves to attack.
It was a few weeks later, and it was still Adrian with what was left of the squads that were stationed up north with him on the ship and the ships that followed. They were all about to set foot in the area of Eritrea when they all looked up from the ship; some voices mumbled to each other, while others were as quiet as mice. "Holy shit..." ... "Is this what we're fighting for..?" A lot of them saw the base in smoke and have been completely destroyed; some are still asleep or inside trying to recover from the long battle they fought. Those who saw that there was nothing left... noticed static playing over their radios, and there it was, 'Queen' calling out over all of their radios of the men on the ship "All arriving forces... push back to the embassy inside Indonesia, prepare and be ready to fight... we have lost the embassy in Somalia, and the airbase in Eritrea... I don’t know how much longer I have left, but continue to fight with what you all have left in you." It was then that gunshots rang out over all of their radios before it went quiet... and another voice came over the frequency, "Long live the insurgency." Adrian could only ever wonder anymore. Was there any true chance at standing against them? They hadn't heard from foundation forces for several months. Their command was slowly lessening more and more, and all hope that they had was slowly diminishing among all the men and women that sat on the boat... it was then decided by the GOC LT 'Sunburn' who stood on the boat with them, "You heard it, it's an unlikely chance they'll strike tonight and come for it. We're going to the embassy, so rest up and be ready at 0600." Slowly, Adrian turned the boat around, giving a nod to the LT while looking around at the rest of those who sat on the ship with him, some being reassured they were going to be able to get some rest... with some who were just probably thinking about the worst of what was to come.
Sitting on the ship. All he had time to do was think, was there any true purpose in this dumb war? Couldn't here just run away back home? Was there any real reason for this to continue on in such a pointless battle? The insurgents were bound to win; all they had to do was continue to capture those who stood against them and their "cause," execute them, and finally have this pointless war end. He turned and twisted in his seat, ending up looking over a map he kept, keeping track of who was where on the world and if it was safe or not... 75% of it was covered with a green marker, and the other with a dark blue, red, and grey marker. After marking it with the green marker again, Adrian put the map away back into a compartment in the armor he wore, and he went back to thinking, thinking about his family back in Rhode Island, and the day he found out the worst about his family's true nature. It was the middle of the night, and he was listening to an old-timey radio, going through its frequency and just listening for anything interesting... the truckers out there, anything about a football, baseball game... something. It was then he stopped on a certain frequency [27.185 MHz — Channel 19], it was a voice of someone he knew all too well, "To all Insurgent forces, this is [REDACTED] with the [REDACTED]. The GOC forces should be moving into Site-500 inside Finland at 0700 hours, begin surrounding the site at 0600 at these coordinates [REDACTED, REDACTED, REDACTED]. It should be a blind spot to take them all by surprise and the site itself." Nonetheless, he was dumbfounded... why out of all the people it had to be him... why would his own father would do something like this? to help the people who are actively killing us by releasing these "THING's" onto the world... his heart skipped a beat and in a few quick motions, he turned off the radio and making his way back to bed. Surely this was something to think on for the night: should he report this to the GOC, or should he run away? Run away from this house of lies to just do better than his own father has? And yet here he was... sitting in a ship with a bunch of GOC Operatives... it seems he did the better thing than going to sell his own father out, probably killing him in the process... and made the better choice for humanity.
It was several weeks later, at 0800 hours. The boat hits the docks, and they've all set foot at the last standing embassy in the world, and there was still little to no contact with the foundation. Adrian, staying behind, was making sure the boat was secure and safe, who probably would have guessed that this would have been more of a home than anything. While the others left to secure the embassy and prepare their own positions, he finally headed inside, walking around the halls filled with sandbags, traps, and explosives to set off to blow up any classified files. He stopped at a certain door. There were 4 voices; it was the last 4 GOC ambassadors that were still standing. Ambassador 'Overseer', Ambassador 'Arbiter', Ambassador 'Ironbound', Ambassador 'Autarch' they were all speaking together, planning their next attacks, speaking on how this may be the last time their all in the same room together. It was then that a large puff of smoke appeared inside the room, and none of them seemed surprised. They all nodded at each other before turning to the smoke... they all agreed on something? It was then Adrian got a little closer, listening in on their conversation... it was then the Archon appeared inside the room "Well, I do hope you've all come to a conclusion?" ... "Yes... We did, will accept the offer as long as you keep your word." ... "Of course, Ironbound! I only want to extermination of these retched insurgents. Once that happens, humanity is all yours, and we won't do a single thing." ... "And how do we know you'll keep this word of yours?" ... "Well, my dear Arbiter, behind the power you'll be given, you'll even have a bit more power than I!" ... "And once this is done, we will only continue to use the power against them. Everyone left will be left alone." ... It was another overseer who then spoke up, after Autarch spoke. "Then let's get this over with. will start with the U.S.A. and move on from there. Conquer each cell they have inside America and move all the hostages we have and keep their commanders hostage somewhere in Mexico after taking down the few serpent hand schools down there." It was then that the Archon sprawled out 4 hands from each of his sides, holding them out to each of the ambassadors in the room, while speaking out, "Then, gentlemen, shall we?" ... It suddenly turned tense inside the room... almost able to be cut by a knife... before each of the ambassadors grabbed each of his hands finishing the deal, It was then the ambassadors started to contort and twist, something evil was growing inside of them while one of them vanished, then the next, and next, and next... the only person left inside the room was the Archon, Archon 'Varrik'... he sat in a chair looking outside a window almost like he was watching a football game, It was only then minutes later did the 'Ambassador's appear back inside the room covered in blood while kneeling before him. It was then that alarms began to blare, and a voice came over the PA System inside the halls, "ALL FORCES PREPARE IMMEDIATELY, THE INSURGENTS HAVE BEEN SPOTTED IN MASS COVERGING ON OUR LOCATION! MULTIPLE BOATS COMING FROM ALL DIRECTIONS! GET TO YOUR STATIONS!" It was then Adrian bolted away... seeing that ALL of this has been what all of them were working for? Working with the enemy? It was quick, but gunshots started to ring off in the area, hitting around him as he fell to the floor while the operatives inside the building began preparing for the assault on the last standing GOC embassy.
It was all happening so quickly, explosions rang off outside, and bullets started to fly through the wall, hitting operatives who sat around inside waiting for them to push in. Orders were being yelled out and given to reinforce the right and left side... but that's when everything went quiet. The 4 Ambassadors stood in front of everyone, covered in blood and looking towards the insurgents that were filing in from the front doors. Two of them taking their hands to do a wiping motion, while most insurgents suddenly fell, and others who took a knee bowing to the four while being stuck in place. The Insurgents' radios began ringing off with multiple voices... "HOLY SHIT, WE'RE GOING DOWN!!!" ... "OH MY GOD THEY'RE COMING OUT OF THE WATERS, RUN!" ... "FALL BACK, FALL BACK! WERE OUTNUMBERED!" ... "HOLY SHIT HALF OF OUR FORCES ARE GONE! WHERE ARE OUR THAUMATURGISTS!?" ... To the GOC operatives in the room, something seemed off...? The insurgent forces were slowly dissipating, while all of them remained inside. Was it the foundation? No... growling began to slow come from all the doors, and with a flick of the four hands, a mass of volatiles burst through the door, some restraining the few insurgents inside while the others killing them instantly. It was then that the GOC drew their guns towards the mass of volatiles and insurgents that continued to burst through the doors. While a voice spoke up, coming from behind all of them, "Enough, lower your weapons." It was the GOC Supreme Commander. "Queen," she looked perfectly fine and unharmed, but how could this be? They all listened to her go down fighting... without a second, most Operatives began following her orders, while most remained HIGHLY confused... Adrian quickly spoke up "Ma'am, why are we lowering our weapons!? Our enemy is right here, and we have the perfect chance to take them all OUT, even if we were supposed to die here?" it went quiet before she spoke up, "SFC, this is how were going to win... how were going to take back America and the world itself. All we can do is trust in those 4 right there for now." Pointing towards the 4 GOC Ambassadors, as she said that... "But ma'am, that's our enemy...? Why would we?" ... "Enough." Suddenly, the four ambassadors of the supposed GOC vanished again. The Supreme Commander pulled out a tablet, showing it to every last standing operative in the area something on the screen while it soon showed cell's all around the world began to explode, with commanders being executed on the spot, it started with some they all knew "Turnover", "Spinoff", while then it showed some who's face were never even shown before... A lot of the operatives started to question if this was even the right thing to do, while most just went along with it only because they were so tired and didn't want to be killed for trying to go against them.
Months later... the date was December 3rd, 2015, the world turned upside down for Adrian, reports slowly coming in and out from the embassies and bases across the world that were taken back, showing and speaking about how the ambassadors continued to wipe out cells off the map and how insurgent forces began to slowly diminish. Even the foundation forces that gathered back together to continue their only goal were killed and wiped off the map because they had different ideals to continue to contain the anomalies to make sure humanity wasn't plagued of them once more, even the ones that heavily plagued the world. Slowly but surely, the map that Adrian kept began to turn blue... He pulled it out to look at it while 75% of it was now being conquered by the GOC... even foundation sites conquered... he began circling one last spot on the map before putting it away. His heart dropped while he read a few notes that were placed on his desk, "Archon is slowly becoming weakened!" "Possible termination of Archon coming soon!" Was this all really something he could believe in? Was this even the right thing to do? Why make a deal with the enemy that wanted to be rid of humanity as we knew it? Just more thoughts that ran across his mind while he filed reports one after another, "Ambassador's combined into 1!?" ... "Ambassadors continue to make deals for the GOC." ... "GOC Standing tall once more?" ... "Mechs being built to kill the rest of the insurgent forces?" ... So much nonsense, and that's when he stood up from his desk to leave the embassy still in Indonesia, walking out the doors, he noticed flags on the outside with text printed on it "LAST STANDING GOC EMBASSY!" He shook his head in disappointment. While what he fought for was just gone, he began walking out to the docks while passing up some fields with GOC Operatives that continued to train and fight for the GOC, and others who fought for Sarkic influence, with some talking about what happened around the world ... "Did you hear we took back America?" ... "I heard the ambassadors even killed the top dogs in the insurgency and foundation." ... walking to the boat, he kept hidden still, he untied it, working his way to make sure it was ready to drive out of here, taking a few gallons of fuel to be able to go back to his hometown to see his mother and father, to see if they were dead.
