‘A Road Not Followed,’ originally a structured viola improvisation, is a piece for solo viola alongside a fixed electronics track. Following a time-based clock in correspondence with the electronics, the viola line contains both set melodic lines as well as free improvised sections which make use of extended techniques. 

The version included here was both written and performed by Adowyn Ernste in July 2026.
