Step 2: Visit our shelter during adoption hours (Monday-Friday 2-6 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday 11 a.m.-4 p.m.). When you arrive, you will first be asked to fill out our Shelter Adoption Application with your information. You may also pre-fill our Shelter Adoption Application ahead of time online to save time when you are at the shelter. Your application will be processed after you meet the animal.

Step 4: When you have selected the right animal for you, our Adoptions Team will run your Adoption Application for approval. Once your application is approved, you will participate in an adoption class where you will learn all of the details about your new adopted family member, including their known history and medical records.

What else to expect: Animals who are already spayed/neutered and past their stray hold (if applicable) can often go home with you the same day. Pick-up arrangements for unaltered animals and/or animals still on a stray hold will be made during your adoption class.

Step 2: Fill out our Foster Adoption Application with your information. To meet animals in foster homes, your application must be approved first. You will receive an email from our shelter or the foster when this step is complete. Please understand that this may take a few days and that filling out the application does not guarantee you will be able to adopt the animal.

What else to expect: Our foster families are volunteers who take care of our animals while maintaining their own busy lives! This means that adopting through a foster home is often a longer process than visiting the animals in our shelter.

Step 3: If the cat is the right match for your family, the Offsite Adoptions Team will take you through the next steps, which include filling out and approving your Adoption Application and completing an adoption class where you will learn all of the details about your new adopted family member, including their medical records.

In order to adopt, you must be at least 18 years old, provide proof of a current address, and have a current photo ID. Potential adopters must interact with the animals they are interested in and complete an adoption application. Once a selection has been made, applicants meet with a BARCS Adoption Counselor.

As of now, our services encompass vaccinations, preventatives, and online pharmacy services (coming soon). However, we do not currently offer veterinary care for injured or unwell pets, nor do we provide spaying or neutering services. Stay connected with us through social media for the latest updates on our Pet Wellness Clinic as we work diligently to expand our offerings in the near future.

Adoption fees are charged to help us offset some of our costs for caring for the thousands of animals that enter our doors each year. All animals are spayed or neutered, microchipped, given vaccinations appropriate for their age at the time of adoption, treated for parasites, and given flea/tick protection. In addition, dogs (6 months or older) are tested for heartworm.

Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (HARP) is proud to partner with Animal Friends to help find forever homes for animals in our community. Start the New Year with a new best friend! We're waiving adoption fees on some of our favorite pets through Sat., January 6. We're going to be sad to see them go and so happy they have a new home with you!

Choose a pet type, location, gender and/or age to filter your search results. Alternatively, you may enter a specific animal name or animal identification number. For more about our adoption process, featured pets, discounts and rescue partners, please click here.

You can drop into the shelter to browse some of our available animals during the shelter's open hours. We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

Only one application is accepted per animal. In many cases, our pets can go home the same day they are adopted, so please come prepared with a leash and collar if you are adopting a dog, or with a pet-safe

carrier if you are adopting a cat, rabbit, or another small animal.

Service members with at least 190 days in the service are welcome to utilize this partnership. You could adopt for free if you are looking to adopt one of the following: a dog or cat at least 2 years of age; a dog or cat with special needs; a dog or cat that has been homeless for 6 months+; or a dog 40+ pounds. Orange County Animal Services (OCAS) has announced two upcoming fall events. The first is the shelter's annual "Furry Fall Festival" followed by its annual "Barktoberfest." Both events provide an opportunity for the community to meet available pets and become more familiar with OCAS services and programs.

Animals which have completed their "Stray Hold" time and have beenspayed/neutered and fully vaccinated are considered "ready-to-go." Any animalin a "ready-to-go" status can go home with you today. All "ready-to-go"adoptions are $20, unless otherwise noted.

We have many wonderful pets to adopt but know that adding a pet to your family is a big decision. All animals require training and commitment. Some pets can live well into their teens and many may have special medical needs as they get older, such as medication, frequent checkups, etc., just like people. All these things, including the joy of having a loyal friend, should be factored in before you decide to take on this responsibility.

Cobb County Animal Services has many adoptable animals housed at their shelter located at 1060 Al Bishop Drive in Marietta Georgia. Many breeds of animals can be found housed at our facility ready for adoption.

Sometimes animals have a hard time getting adopted due to injuries or extensive care required. The pets listed here are available for licensed rescue organizations. Rescue organizations do not need an appointment to pick up the available pets.

Cobb County Ordinance gives Cobb County Animal Services the right to deny, limit the amount of adoptions by any individual, and to require adopters to sign an adoption agreement/contract with every adoption. This is for the safety of the animal being adopted.

No, animals such as fish, birds, ferrets, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs and reptiles are rarely turned into the shelter. When we do get these animals, we have rescue groups that take possession of them. These groups are very knowledgeable of the specific needs of these animals and they adopt them out from their rescue group.

We also offer a free pet listing service to families in Kansas City, MO, who are seeking new homes for their pets in order to avoid relinquishing their companion(s) to our shelter. View pets being rehomed here.

GoodPup is a one-on-one dog training service that partners with shelters in hopes of reducing return rates. LHS adopters receive one week FREE upon activation and discounts for continued service. The training is held through an app and users can video chat with a trainer, which is convenient and easy. There is no obligation, you can cancel at any time. Learn more or sign up here.

Metro Animal Care and Control has animals available for adoption every day. If you are looking to add an awesome animal to your family, Metro Animal Care and Control is the right place to find your new furry friend. We have been matching pets with people for many years, and when you visit, our staff and volunteers will work with you to try to find your perfect loyal companion.

Once you arrive, take time to view all of the animals available for adoption. Adoption counselors and volunteers will be on site to guide you through every step of the adoption process. The adoption process includes: filling out an application, counseling session, and interacting with the animal you are interested in adopting. Please be sure to set aside several hours to complete the entire process of interaction and adopting a pet.

Our agency believes that introducing a new pet to your home should be a decision that involves all members of the family. If you have children living in your home, they should be a part of the adoption process.

If the animal you are adopting has already been spayed/neutered, it will be able to go home with you after your adoption is complete. If not, your pet will need to stay and you will pick him or her up after spay/neuter surgery.

The Orange County Animal Shelter has many wonderful, available pets! Animals are available on a first-come, first-served basis.* No appointment needed! Please stop by to view available pets and, while visiting, you may request to meet with an available pet. Meetings with pets last for 15 minutes. Meetings with available pets end 1 hour before closing. However, you are welcome to walk through adoption areas and view available pets until closing time.

If you have questions about available pets or about visiting our facility, please call 919-942-7387, option 3, to speak with a staff member at our adoption desk. If the staff is unable to answer right away, please leave a clear message with your full name and contact number. Our staff responds to messages in the order they are received. Every effort will be made to respond to messages the same day, but it is possible that you may not receive a callback until the next business day due to the high volume of calls we often receive. See our hours on this page.

*If multiple people arrive at the shelter to meet a highly-adoptable pet (such as a special, popular breed), OCAS employees may draw names to determine who is first eligible to meet with and adopt the pet. This is a random drawing to promote fairness and only one member from any household may enter the drawing. e24fc04721
