I had a task to read page size of documents like: .doc, .docx, pdf, xls and now i need to count a page size of .adoc document. I googled a lot but didn't find anything familiar for this problem. For .doc, .docx im using Apache POI Java libraries.

I don't think it is possible on the adoc file itself because that is only defining the textual formatting of the text. A 'compiler' will transform it either in a PDF or HTML artifact, (possibly also other formats).

It might be complemented by an automated second sentence in the warning if a page has no maintainer (based upon your approach; or whatever we call it): e.g.,

If the preprocessor extension reads lines from the reader, it will cause side effects.One of these side effects is that document attributes in the header may not be interpreted correctly.Another is that it may interfere with line number tracking.If the extension adds or removes lines, the parser could produce misleading line number information.Thus, interacting with the reader in a prepreprocessor extension should be avoided, if possible.

Maintaining long delimiter lines is a colossal waste of time, not to mention arbitrary and error prone.I strongly urge you to use the minimum number of characters necessary to form a delimited block and move on to drafting the content.The reader will never see these long strings of delimiters anyway since they are not carried over to the output (HTML, DocBook, etc).

Snippets are bounded by "tag" comments placed at the start and end of the section you would like to import. Opening tags look like: // tag::snippetName[]. Here's a simple example of an AsciiDoc document, which you can create using any text editor or even a word processor (like LibreOffice) as long as you save the file as plain text. Most applications expect a plain text document to use the extension .txt, and while it's a convention use the extension .adoc for AsciiDoc, it's not necessary. Asciidoctor doesn't require any special extension.
