I use adobe reader all the time, PC version has this option to add bookmarks in your pdf, I read large pdfs and save them on adobe cloud just to have them synced over devices, but I can't find any option to add bookmarks to it on ipad version of the reader, anyone know where the option is?

Nearly every update to this reader app always makes a mention about performance improvements or performance and stability improvements. Can we stop knitting in so much other fluff features into the code and just get it to run yes very well as a reader app?

It's in, I have tried the reader, and the performance is still horrible. Ignoring how long it takes to get off the splash screen and show the file list, still takes about five seconds to open a document, once the document is presented, still about 10 or 15 seconds before the screen will un-stick, and one can scroll through the document, and another five seconds to close the document.

Here's a thought: fix the performance of the app, and contain the urge to lob on all this extra code that seems to perform all sorts of functions other than just simply opening and presenting a document so users aren't pulling their hair out waiting for the app to respond when the heat is on and they need to get things done. Side-by-side on my device is YouTube, which is coming up on 300 MB in size just like the Adobe reader app and the YouTube app by comparison is smooth and fluid and seamless.

Same issue here using iPhone and iPad. For about 2 minutes reader was greatly improved after the last update but went back to being excruciatingly slow to do anything. Touch a control and wait to see if/when it responds. Wait 10 or 20 seconds before the document allows you to expand view or scroll pages.

I'm having the same issue now and none of these fixes are working. I had worked on a +300 pg book manuscript over a few weeks, writing comments in margins and underlining. Now that I'm writing up the reviewer report, I'm going back through the manuscript and looking for the comments. I see that they saved up until p. 105 but for the rest of the doc they are gone! I'm using the Acrobat app on my ipad

I'm afraid that this didn't work for me. The link between dropbox and adobe reader regularly drops for me (almost daily). I have tried all your advice, such as signing into dropbox on the adobe first, before opening dropbox. Even gone as far as removing dropbox and adobe apps and reinstalling, clearing caches etc - to no avail!

I am reading through multiple 300 page PDF docs for work. I rely on adobe reader because when I open the PDF it is on the last page read. When the connection between dropbox and adobe is disrupted, the PDFs have to be re-established on adobe and my reading progress is lost.

Sadly there is no other PDF view/edit app linked to Ipad Dropbox app, which is disappointing. I have always tried to avoid adobe where possible. I have also tried to contact adobe for support with this issue, but it is limited to paying customers (10 a month - no thanks). They kept passing me between support and sales teams - awful.

- As solutions have been given above, I have attempted to sign into adobe first. This hasn't helped. I have endlessly reinstalled both apps, signed out, then re-signed back in, cleared caches etc etc.

We use iPads as classroom tools, and wipe and restore them regularly. This week I tried to load my apps and the adobe acrobat reader app refused to load. I use apple configurator 2 and iPad 4's. Haven't had this issue until today. I loaded some iPads last week and they were fine, but this week, no go. I read there was an update for iOS 12 this week but my iPads still use iOS 10 as that was the last iOS compatible with iPad 4. I suppose what I want to know is with the update you guys did to the acrobat reader this week for iOS 12, is it no longer compatible with iOS 10 and my iPad 4's?

I downloaded Notablilty and upload my pdfs drop dropbox to Notability in order to mark them up (its a beautiful, smoothly working app and I highly recommend it). You can then share this marked up file back to dropbox/adobe/Files in iPad etc. Its not a perfect solution (even irritating sometimes if you have multiple files) but Adobe and Dropbox dont leave much choice at the moment.

I have been using acrobat on the ipad for about 2 years and this issue only started about 3-4 months ago. When editing a pdf, normally, I write with the pen and double-tap to switch to eraser. This appears to only work intermittently or on certian pdfs and not others. Right now, I am consistently getting it to work on 3 specific pdfs (2 that I created via LaTeX, and 1 scanned in from paper by a student) but 2 pdfs it just won't work on (1 is LaTeX'd by me that it used to work on a few months ago, and 1 is LaTeX'd by someone else).

I cannot seem to do that now. What i noticed is that in the LOCATIONS section of Acrobat reader, icloud is not there. I checked my icloud settings on the ipad, and for some strange reason Adobe is greyed out

I still struggle with the same problem in 2022... Can anyone help? I am logged in on my macbook as well as on my ipad. The password secured PDF I want to edit synchs from Macbook alle comments to my ipad but doesn't allow any changes from my ipad.

That said, there are some forms of encryption and protected documents that the iOS Adobe Acrobat can read, but cannot edit. If you have a sample of one of these files to share, you can email me at pawibbel@adobe.com and I can confirm.

So, this also being the case, we should not confuse (nor compare), nor fall prey of misleading software advertising campaigns, and expect that a free PDF reader for mobile devices will have the same capabilites of a full blown PDF editor for desktop computers.

"So, this also being the case, we should not confuse (nor compare), nor fall prey of misleading software advertising campaigns, and expect that a free PDF reader for mobile devices will have the same capabilites of a full blown PDF editor for desktop computers." Absolutely right. The free (to use) software exists only to sell the commercial products, not to replace them.

Is this feature now available? I'm using Acrobat Pro version 21.01.04 on my Ipad and still can't find a way to add bookmarks. I'm in disbelief. I've tried other readers (goodreader/PDF Pro) and they all offer this functionality.

This point that is being missed is that the BOOKMARKS feature should not be something that is on customer's wishlist, it is meant to be part of the basic functionality of the program. This isn't just about acrobat editor on ios (paid subscription) it also applies to web browser acrobat pro (again, a paid subscription). If I'd known this feature was absent I wouldn't have subscribed. There are adobe extensions for all the different browsers too and they don't include bookmarks.

Its beyond ridiculous! Despite being a paid subscription. Same applies to adobe acrobat pro used in web browser. No bookmarking panel in safari or chrome or firefox or even google on any of these browsers despite there being an acrobat extension. Once again, all paid subscriptions yet limited functionality for no good reason. Whats more, acrobat pro desktop is unstable and slow on the latest macs which is pretty poor for a supposedly premium product.

Adobe Reader for iPad lands in iTunes Store and becomes a popular iPad reader. I think people who have been accustomed to viewing PDF with Adobe Reader on computers might prefer the app for iPad. It indeed is a good iPad iBooks alternative. In this article, it will show how to use Adobe Reader to read PDF eBook on iPad and introduce its best free alternative - PDFelement for iOS.

You can make basic edits using a PDF reader, many of which are available as free versions. You'll also find plenty of PDF editors that have fewer features than Acrobat, making them the ideal choice for casual users or those who don't need anything too complex. If you need to make more in-depth edits, batch process files, or convert between file types, then a fully-fledged PDF editor is the best choice for you.

The Adobe CC software is available to the UNC-Chapel Hill community through an Adobe Enterprise subscription model. To uninstall the Adobe software, visit the adobe.com article: Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems.

You cannot directly open an ACSM file on a Kindle e-reader device. However, you can download an ACSM file, such as a digital library book, to your computer and then transfer the downloaded ebook to your Kindle (or other compatible devices) using Adobe Digital Editions software. After installing and activating the free software, connect your Kindle to your computer with a USB cable and authorize the transfer. 0852c4b9a8
