Use raw files whenever possible. More generally, start from the cleanest source photo available. If the source photo has artifacts, as often happens with highly compressed JPEGs or HEIC files, then these artifacts might become more visible after applying Super Resolution.

Hi everyone, i would love to use PureRAW since i'm super frustrated with the lack of proper support for Nikon's now more than 2 year old Z lenses (limited to "built-in" profiles, showing highly visible moderate to severe under-correction of vignetting). However, in my testing PureRAW produced on average up to 4 times bigger (linear) DNG files than the original lossless compressed Nikon NEF files (it would also inflate by the same factor DNGs produced from the NEF files in Lightroom). The cost of a PureRAW license is therefore negligible compared to the costs (including environmentally) for the required additional storage space... my hopes have therefore rapidly been dampened...

When I upload a full size, high resolution image into an album (drag and drop directly to the web browser) for my clients to download I can see in the metadata that the image is 5mb. In the home screen/dashboard area of the lightroom for web when I download an image it will give me the option to download either the full sized 5mb version of the image or a compressed 900kb version of the image. When I share the album and create a web gallery for my clients there is no option and they can only download the compressed 900kb version of the image.

Noise is bad - worse still, if you must use highly compressed JPG photos, because noise is a complex pattern which worsens JPG compression artifacts, which even without any noise can make edges too trashy for easy cutting. Simply: avoid underexposing, high ISO values and tight JPG compression.

Synced collections don't appear in your regular Creative Cloud file view. Instead, you can view or share links to them them via a private lightroom.adobe.com site. However, the site only shows the currently synced collections, which means the links you share are ephemeral; if you unsync a collection or switch catalogs, anyone you've sent the link to will get a page-not-found error. People can comment on the photos, and the comments will sync back -- only for now. ff782bc1db
