Adnane Saoud

Brief Biography

Hi, I am Adnane Saoud, an Associate Professor (Maître de conférences) at CentraleSupélec, University Paris-Saclay, France.

In 2021, I was a postdoctoral researcher in the EECS Department at University of California, Berkeley, under the supervision of Murat Arcak. In 2020, I was a postdoctoral researcher in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz, under the supervision of Ricardo Sanfelice. My work focused on adaptive and learning-based control of cyber-physical systems.

Between 2017 and 2019, I did a PhD titled Compositional and efficient controller synthesis for cyber-physical systems at CentraleSupélec under the joined supervision of Antoine Girard (Laboratoire des signaux et systèmes, L2S, CentraleSupelec) and Laurent Fribourg (Laboratoire de spécification et vérification, LSV, ENS Paris-Saclay).

Prior to that, I received an Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from Ecole Mohammadia d’ingénieurs, EMI , Rabat, Morocco, in 2014 and a M.S. degree in Control Theory from Université Paris-Saclay, Paris, France, in 2016.

  • 08/2022: Our paper titled "Using Euler’s Method to Prove the Convergence of Neural Networks" got accepted at IEEE Control System Letters (LCSS).


  • 08/2022: Our paper titled "Learning-based Symbolic Abstractions for Nonlinear Control Systems" got accepted at Automatica.



  • 05/2022: Our paper titled "Asymptotic Error in Euler’s Method with a Constant Step Size" got accepted at the European Journal of Control (EJC).


  • 06/2021: Selected as one of the three finalists for the EECI PhD award, recompensing the best PhD works in Europe in the field of Control for Complex and Heterogeneous Systems.
