I am Adnan Anwar, lecturer at Deakin University. I am passionate in applying intelligent methods to solve emerging challenges and problems in critical infrastructures like energy grid, IoT, SCADA systems, computer and communication networks. I have published over 30 technical articles in prestigious journals, book chapters and international conferences. According to google scholar, I have 400 citations (with h-index 11).
Previously I have worked with Flow Power (A wholesale Energy Retailer) as a Data Scientist. Previously I also worked for University of New South Wales at Australian Defence Force Academy, Australia under the supervision of Dr. Abdun Mahmood (Associate Professor, La Trobe Uni). I have received Masters in Engineering (Research) from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Australia and Bachelors (first class honours) from IUT. During my masters and doctoral study, I have received over 125k AUD in total as a form of scholarship.
I have also worked with National ICT, Australia (NICTA) in the 'Future Energy Grid' project under Prof. Sylvie Thiebaux (ANU). Previously, I served as an engineer in NovoTel Limited (an international telecom gateway) and as a lecturer in the University of Asia Pacific. I have served as a reviewer in several high impact journals including IEEE transactions, Elsevier and IET journals. I have presented my works in prestigious international and local conferences, workshops and seminars. My research interest includes Smart Grid modelling and simulation, security and data analytics of Smart Grid, intelligent methods and applications.
