Cognitive science is an intricate mosaic of several disciplines. As one traverses through its diverse fields, the structure of the human mind and world begins to unravel in a beautiful symphony. Sadly, undergraduate training in cognitive science remains fairly limited outside the US and Western Europe. This widespread lack of prior training makes the mosaic appear far too complicated for many people who have lay-interests in understanding the mind.
Along with Jay Richardson, I launched the Cognitations podcast in 2023 to redress this. Aimed at a general audience, the podcast explores how the fascinating quirks of the mind and the world can be understood through the lens of cognitive science.
As this podcast becomes two years old, Thomas Beuchot & Cindy Zhang have joined us to scale up this initiative and record episodes with a wider range of guests. Additionally, we also receive psychological and financial support from the European Human Behaviour and Evolution Association (EHBEA).
The podcast is available on all major podcasting platforms (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube).
