This privacy policy outlines the way we handle and protect your information when you use FlashBox (hereinafter referred to as "this application"), as well as your privacy rights.
FlashBox is a photo album organization application. Its core functions rely on the reading and analysis of your device's local photos and videos. We adhere to the principle of "media privacy priority": Your photos, videos, thumbnails, and AI analysis content are always retained locally on your device and will not be uploaded to our servers or any third-party servers. The current version of this application is not connected to the internet and does not collect any personal data.
Using this application indicates your agreement to the practices described in this privacy policy.
1. Explanation and Definitions
In this policy, the following terms have the following meanings:
- This Application : Refers to FlashBox, the software program provided by us.
- Device : Refers to any device that can access this application, such as a mobile phone.
- Personal Data : Refers to any information related to an identifiable or identifiable natural person.
- Service : Refers to this application.
- You : Refers to the individual who accesses or uses this application.
According to GDPR, we are the data controller (Data Controller). According to CCPA/CPRA, we are the business entity that collects consumer personal information (Business).

In the current version, we do not collect any of your personal data.
This application does not have an account system, is not connected to the internet, and does not integrate any analytics, advertising, push, or crash collection SDKs. During your use, we do not collect your name, email, device identifier, IP address, location, usage behavior, or any other personal data.
2.2 Processing of In-App Information
To provide the album organization function, this application will read your device's local photos and videos after obtaining your explicit authorization. All processing is completed locally on your device and will not be uploaded or leave your device:
- Reading, displaying, organizing, and deleting media;
- AI similarity / duplication / low quality / atmosphere tag analysis;
- Generation and caching of thumbnails and media indexes;
- Local records required for functions such as "Recall Box", "Today's Date", "Favorite List", and "Achievement Statistics".
You can revoke album or notification permissions at any time in the system settings. After revocation, this application will stop the related functions.
2.3 Data Use
This application only uses the above information locally to provide product functions (organization, deletion, moving, recycle bin, favorite list, achievement statistics, etc.), and is not used for any analysis, profiling, advertising, or sharing purposes.
2.4 Data Retention
The data involved in this application is stored locally on your device:
- FlashBox Recycle Bin: Records the media that have been moved to the recycle bin and the time, retained for approximately 30 days; after 30 days, you need to confirm in the application to permanently delete.
- Favorite List, organization records, and achievement ledger: Saved locally. The achievement ledger only contains the minimum statistics without any media information (such as random achievement ID, whether it has been included, file size before deletion, deletion attribution), and does not contain original media ID, URI, path, file name, shooting information, or AI tags.
- AI analysis cache and local database: Only exists on the device.
Uninstalling this application will clear all the above local data. We do not retain any of your data.
2.5 Cross-Border Data Transfer
Not applicable. This application does not transfer your any data to our or third-party servers, nor does it conduct cross-border transfer.
2.6 Deleting Your Data
You have full control over the local data on your device:
- You can clear the organization status through functions such as "Reset Organization Records" in the application;
- The content in the recycle bin can be restored or permanently deleted by you;
- Uninstalling this application will clear all the local data on your device by this application.
Since we do not collect or retain your data, you do not need to apply for deletion from us. If you have any questions, you can communicate with us through the contact information at the end of this policy.
2.7 Data Disclosure
We will not disclose any of your data to third parties. Only when there are clear legal requirements or in response to legitimate requests from authorities, we may legally disclose corresponding information - but given that this application does not collect your data, the actual scope of disclosure is extremely limited.
2.8 Data Security
Your data is always stored locally on your device and protected by the device's own security mechanism. Since it does not involve network transmission and server storage, there is no risk of leakage due to network transmission or server storage.
3. Permission Explanation
This application requests the following system permissions on demand, all for the purpose of providing the corresponding functions:
- Album/Media Reading Permission: Used to read the photos and videos you have authorized for organization.
- Media Writing Permission: Used to move media to the system album or permanently delete it. Each operation requires authorization from you as per the system requirements.
- Notification Permission: Only requested when you actively enable the "That Day Today" reminder. It is used to send a reminder when there are memories from previous years on the current day. It is default disabled, with a maximum of one reminder per day.
Each time the application returns to the foreground, it will recheck the permission status and does not cache the permission conclusion permanently. You can revoke these permissions at any time in the system settings.
4. GDPR Privacy (Brief Version)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, GDPR applies.
4.1 Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data
Since this application does not collect your personal data, processing of your personal data is usually not involved. If the "Help Improve Product" feature is enabled in the future, we will process the corresponding pseudonymized indicators based on your consent.
4.2 Your Rights under GDPR
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, and have your personal data transferred, as well as the right to withdraw your consent and file a complaint with the regulatory authority. 5. CCPA/CPRA Privacy Statement (Simplified Version)
If you are a resident of California, CCPA/CPRA applies.
5.1 Categories of Personal Information Collected
We do not collect any of the personal information categories defined by CCPA/CPRA. This application does not collect identifiers, commercial information, network activity information, geographical location, biometric information, or other personal information.
5.2 Selling and Sharing of Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for commercial purposes.
5.3 Your Rights under CCPA/CPRA
You have the right to know the categories of personal information we collect, to request deletion, correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. 6. Children's Privacy
This application is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we will not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided information to us, please contact us. Since this application does not collect any data, such a situation will not actually occur.
If the laws in your region require obtaining the consent of a guardian for minors under a certain age, we will first obtain the guardian's consent when it is necessary to base the action on such consent.
