Tamanna Adhikari


I am currently employed as an Advisor to the Director of Financial Stability  within the Central Bank of Ireland. An economist by training, my work involves producing research and policy analysis pieces, internal briefings committee papers, bank publications, peer-reviewed publications on topics related to financial stability owing to domestic and international macroeconomic shocks, household finance, and macroprudential policy.

Prior to this, I was living in the middle-Atlas mountains in Morocco teaching Macroconomics at the School of Business Administration, Al Alkhawayn University of Ifrane. I worked as a consultant for Indecon Economic Consultants, Ireland and as a post doctoral research fellow at the University of Johannesburg. I completed my PhD. in applied macroeconomic methods in development economics at University College Dublin (UCD). Here is a recent CV

In my spare time, my research interests are  wellbeing and happiness economics, economic development and governance, particularly in developing countries. My ongoing and published work can be found here

My  work deals with construction and analysis of a Gross Happiness Index using Big Data. More information on the index can be found here while  media coverage can be found here.

 I now live in Dublin. As well as Economics, my interests include running, cooking, and travelling in the Middle East as much as possible.
