WELCOME TO THE BEST SUMMER EVER!
LEARNING COMMUNITY
Congratulations to the sixteen Arizona sites preparing to deepen Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)
through our Best Summer Ever! Learning Community. The Learning Agenda, in partnership with the Arizona Department of Education is eager to support and guide the Best Summer Ever! Learning Community toward our ambitious goal:
To develop a model for 21st CCLC Summer Programs which will incorporate evidence-based methods and eventually impact the landscape of Summer Learning statewide and nationally.
WE EQUIP ARIZONA STUDENTS TO REALIZE
THEIR POTENTIAL through key areas of 21st CCLC programming:
Academic offerings as described in the original grant are based on rigorous scientific research that aligns with the measures of effectiveness. Summer programs provide academic enrichment activities to students in core content areas such as reading, literacy, and math.
Youth Development programs and activities as described in the original grant must be offered to participating 21st CCLC students. Activities may include leadership, service learning, counseling, art, music, technology, coding, STEM, cultural & character education, health & physical education, environmental literacy, drug & violence prevention, etc.
Family Engagement refers to an intentional and systemic partnership of education, family, and community members who share responsibility for a student’s preparation for school, work, and adult life.
