An annual emergency assistance program designed to help veterans that find themselves in need of financial assistance. Services include, Mortgage or rent payments, utility, medical prescriptions, auto expenses, and family essentials. Transportation to Hines Hospital, Hoffman Estates and Aurora Clinics. Connects veterans to other assistance.

Housing payment assistance towards security deposit, rent, or mortgage to help keep someone in their home or move into housing if they are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
Must live or be moving into DuPage County; Be in danger of eviction or foreclosure, or are homeless; Be able to document how they will pay their rent and monthly expenses after assistance is received; Have a landlord or mortgage company will to work with the program; Additional criteria may apply depending on funding.
Must provide lease, income documents for all household members, and reason assistance is needed. Additional document may be requested.

Little to no income Presently homeless Must have legal valid immigration status and/or U.S. citizenship Must have valid work authorization Must be willing and able to gain self-sufficiency within a 6 month time period. Must be able to meet or exceed program requirements including; vacating facility during the day, household chores, seek employment and adhere to case management recommendations. Must be residing in the United States a minimum of 3 months before applying. Must not have received Transitional Housing from ICNA Relief in the past year.

While in residence, participants learn skills and develop personal habits that will transfer to their independent housing situation after graduation. Residents are responsible for contributing toward the cost of their care through part-time employment that covers a program fee and their personal expenses. They are supported by their case manager to access community resources and obtain services for themselves such as career, education, medical and mental health services and the spiritual care necessary for their well-being.

Serenity House Recovery Homes are alcohol and drug-free homes whose guidelines, groups, and recovery management activities are directed toward maintenance of sobriety for persons in early recovery from substance use disorders. Residents focus on the development of essential skills necessary to maintain lasting recovery.

An Extended Residential Care Program (Halfway House) provides a safe and secure place for clients’ early phase of recovery where they can be surrounded by other recovery residents working toward a sober life. The program provides clients the ability to create new, healthier relationships in recovery, and the structured living design provides the tools to navigate life while remaining sober.

Telephone Legal Advice Line. CCLA provides legal services in many areas of law to low to no income individuals. Services range from legal advice to drafting legal documents to presenting legal workshops. Court representation is also offered in family, housing and consumer matters. In addition, CCLA offers assistance in safety planning, such as preparing guardianship of a minor agreements or power of attorney for property forms.

DuPage Inc., is a nonprofit, HUD approved housing counseling agency focused on increasing accessibility to and preserving homeownership, with an emphasis on serving first-time buyers and low to moderate income persons. Free counseling services include, Pre-Purchase Program, Foreclosure Prevention, Financial Literacy Education, and Financial Coaching.
