Privacy Policy — AdBlock - Block Ads Plus
This Privacy Policy explains how AdBlock - Block Ads Plus (the “Extension”, “we”, “us”, “our”) may process information in connection with the installation, use, and operation of the Extension. It also describes the general reasons for such processing and the safeguards applied.
By installing or using the Extension, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
A. Coverage of This Notice
This Policy applies only to the Extension and its related operation (including support, maintenance, and improvements). It does not apply to third-party websites, services, or platforms you access while browsing, which are governed by their own policies.
B. Data We Don’t Ask For
The Extension works without registration or account creation.
We do not request or intentionally collect personally identifiable information (“PII”), such as:
names
email addresses
phone numbers
payment details
physical addresses
login credentials
account-specific identifiers
C. Operational Signals That May Be Handled
To keep the Extension stable, compatible, and resistant to misuse, limited non-personal information may be processed. This is not intended to identify you. This may include browser type/version, operating system details, locale/language and time-related settings, and general diagnostic/compatibility signals.
D. Typical Moments When Processing Occurs
Processing described in this Policy may occur automatically, including:
during installation, activation, or first launch
when core features are used
during routine background activity needed for reliability (e.g., integrity checks or protection mechanisms)
E. Why This Processing Exists
Information handled under this Policy is used only for legitimate operational purposes, which may include:
providing and maintaining Extension functionality across websites
ensuring compatibility, stability, and performance
detecting, preventing, and reducing misuse or automated interference
identifying and resolving technical issues
improving the Extension over time
F. Network Requests (When Applicable)
In certain cases, the Extension may communicate with remote servers to support operation, integrity, compatibility, and updates. Where such communication occurs, it is intended to be limited to non-personal information necessary for the Extension to function reliably and to reduce misuse.
Depending on the circumstances, network requests may involve the following:
F.1 UID (Random Internal Identifier)
The Extension may transmit the UID described above to support anonymized session continuity and operational integrity checks.
On installation or first use, the Extension may generate a randomly created internal identifier (“UID”). The UID is not derived from personal information and is not intended to identify an individual. It may be used for anonymized session continuity and integrity/anti-misuse checks. The UID may also include (or be associated with) the installation timestamp.
F.2 Technical Interaction Score (Encrypted)
The Extension may transmit the technical interaction score in an encrypted form as an integrity signal, including to help reduce tampering or falsification of request data and to support abuse prevention mechanisms.
F.3 Installed Extension Version
The Extension may transmit the currently installed version number to ensure compatibility and to support correct application of operational rules or updates.
As part of operational safeguards, the Extension may compute a technical score based on non-personal interaction patterns. This score supports reliable operation and helps reduce automated misuse or interference. The score is not intended to determine a user’s real-world identity.
F.4 Time-Based Integrity Signal (Encrypted)
The Extension may transmit encrypted time-related request data (for example, an encrypted timestamp) as an additional authenticity and integrity signal.
F.5 Server-Provided Configuration (Filter Rules)
The Extension may receive configuration materials from remote servers in a structured format (for example, JSON). Such materials may contain advertising filter rules or related operational instructions used by the Extension to apply or adjust filtering behavior. These materials are configuration data and are not personal information.
G. Local Preferences and Configuration
The Extension may use standard browser storage (such as extension storage) to keep limited operational data (for example, settings or configuration) required for functionality.
You can remove locally stored Extension data by uninstalling the Extension or clearing the Extension’s storage through your browser settings.
H. External Processing and Required Disclosures
We do not sell personal information.
Limited non-personal information may be processed by service providers assisting with infrastructure or operational support. Where used, such providers are expected to apply appropriate confidentiality and security safeguards.
Information may also be disclosed if required by applicable law or where reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security, including addressing misuse.
I. Safeguards
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed in connection with the Extension. However, no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
J. Minors
The Extension is not intended for children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
K. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Extension after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
L. Support
For questions regarding this Privacy Policy, please use the support contact method provided on the Extension listing page.
