Hey, my name is Melissa Fifer and I have a cousin named Harper, who is disabled. She will never be able to walk or to talk as well as most children her age. She lacks the fine motor skills required to squeeze a stuffed animals paw or press a small button . So essentially she doesn't get to get to play with those kind of toys. She didn't do anything to deserve not getting those things but because of the way she was born, she doesn't.
There are so many others like her who never get the light up dolls or the singing stuffed animals that most people consider a childhood simplicity that everyone gets to enjoy.
But there is a way for them to have this childhood magic! If someone would solder a larger button to the toy, the lack of fine motor skills will no longer be a obstacle! Normally these toys are incredibly unaffordable for most (ranging from $500-$800) but if we made them we can give them to families in need.
