Adamon N. MUKASA, PhD

I am currently a Principal Research Economist in the Macroeconomic Policy, Debt Sustainability and Forecasting Division of the African Development Bank. I am a researcher interested in development, agricultural, and labor economics, in general, and in poverty and inequality in low- and middle-income countries in particular.

I am also a faculty member (Associate professor on leave of public service) at the Department of Economics and Management, Catholic University of Bukavu, DR Congo where I taught graduate courses such as advanced microeconomics and business statistics. 

I have outstanding track record in leading and collaborating on top-quality economic research and knowledge generation projects for both international institutions and the private sector.  My research and opinion pieces published in the Brookings Institution, World Development, African Development Review, Forbes Africa, among others. I have been Visiting Scholar at the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, Cornell University, USA. 

I hold a PhD in Economics from the University of Trento, Italy; an M.Sc. in Development Economics from the  University of Antwerp, Belgium; an M.A. and B.Sc. in Economics from the Catholic University of Bukavu, DR Congo.
