Wellness Center

Refuge in the Hills is a wellness center that disconnects the user from their surroundings. Located in Big Bear Lake, California, the street facing sides of the building match the typical architectural expression. On the lake side of the building, there are storefronts to that allow extensive daylight and views onto the lake. Users are disconnected both visually and by distance to the surrounding area, and are encouraged to be outside to heal and recharge. Each room has access to natural light, and each bedroom has a balcony, to continue their journey where ever they are in the building.
